I just wrapped up my install. It was a whole lot more work than I thought it would be. I spent easily $400 over the initial ZEX kit installation. But I ended up buying a Mallory VI, fuel pressure gauge / pillar, n2o pressure gauge, heater, fpss, colder plugs and a bunch of switches and LEDs. I even put a B&M trans cooler on the car while upgrading.

Very fun project but it has worn me out....
yeah thats the route i took . i already had cam, long tubes and afr heasds . i also ran the stock injectors, jeff creech tuned it made like 327 on motor to the ground and 420's on 125 shot dry. that was when the cams for these lt1 s were still small and the heads didnt have the flow they have these days. soi was happy with it. killed the crap outta a 30 day tag 03 cobra on bottle. now i am gonna use that dry kit as a first stage on my 396 , that i am currently building. just get any car on nitrous tuned and then have fun, thats just being safe. congrats on your installs guys , enjoy

Hi and which headers do you have? What kind of installation are we talking about? Do I drop the motor for this and can it be done in under 20 hours with regular hand tools?

I live in an e-check area btw and I think we've left topic....

regards

Thanks and congratulations on your car too. Sounds like you have a lot of time and many coins invested but you have a supercar for it all.

My Mallory does strange things to the car. The g-tech rr that I have doesn't know what to think about the electronic signature now and the display tach doesn't work. HP and TQ figures are based on under 1000 rpm now. When I arm the nitrous the rpms rise about 400 rpm and get this; the car will not shift until I hit the low rpm window. Not a problem because at wot the shift points are much greater than that anyway. I may have to re-think how I've got the window and spark retard wired. Still it works well. I didn't get amazed today with it but the bottle pressure was at 650 lbs. I have a heater but need to install it.

did you set you TPS zex sensor up right? arm system then hold throttle wide open with motor off to allow the box to read the correct voltage for WOT. also yeah a bottle heater is a nice thing to have.

Re: 96 LT1 nitrous questions

Yes I did calibrate the wot switch to the TPS but had to disconnect the Mallory window switch before doing it. The Mallory is doing funny things with that window switch ground. I have a test circuit that bypasses the window switch to test the solenoids with the engine off. The solenoids open and close rapidly when going through the ground on the Mallory this way. Maybe I need to contact Mallory about what is happening. Thanks.
