500 hp DIY plate

It's getting pretty boring around here with the cold and snow. I can't wait for summer. In preparation I made a 500 hp double cross plate for the spare bullet. The underside features 18 holes in each spraybar for what I feel should be good distribution. What do you guys think?

Well I've seen pink colored assault rifles so the pink motor isn't really bothering me too much. It looks like you have a nice project underway there. What are the specs of the rest of the build?

My girls like the pink and helped paint the engine. Watch out the two year old can throw a mean flying elbow!

Pink assault rifle...Must be one of those "Duality of Man" statements.

The bottom end is "prepped" factory stock (rpm limited) so I tried to maximize low end torque. I'll run the two 1" spacers with the upper one being the nitrous plate all on top of the victor jr intake. The spacers and intake should aid even nitrous distribution. The heads are dart iron eagles masquerading as summit racing cast iron heads (2.25/1.88 valves, 308 cc intake port volume, the smallest rec ports I could find for max torque and low rpm engine operation). The valve train has roller rockers and trick flow pushrods all riding on a comp flat tappet hydraulic cam aimed to center power right around 6,000 rpm. This big block is a take off of a couple rpm limited small blocks I've been working on for several years (primarily the signature car).

I just finished another plate. This one will easily flow 400+ hp. It will fit atop the 6-71 supercharger. Maybe you'll like the color of this BBC a little better?

I'm good thanks for asking. I got "pinky" done on time. I still need to paint the "old Heap." Do you know where I can get a fiberglass cowl hood? You know one without a blower hole in it?

I've been running the CNC mill. It adds a whole new dimension to the parts I'm able to make.

Actually, I've been working on a Lt1 nitrous plate. Your plate has both gas and nitrous tubes on the passenger side of the plate?

Let me know, then you can use it to put the non-gutted AC car in the 9s! I don't particularly need it. I'll post pics later.

Hi Andy,

What size cowl hood are you looking for and where are you going to paint your car at?

Do you have the new motor in the car or cars yet?

My old plate had two spray bars that went throught it and my new plate has two fogger nozzles, one on each side.

Yes 9's would be nice!!

Hit me up on my cell sometime or i'll call you so we can catch up or shoot me an email at work. tkaramitsos@round2corp.com

Take care and talk to you soon.

Tony

6" cowl. My friend back home does paint.

The motors I've built are for fun and backup should something happen.

Here's the LT1 plate, I'll rearrange the bars to exit on the pass side so as to miss the throttle linkage. The bars are just sitting in the plate right now.

I have an extra cowl hood but it's just a stock height one. I have a 6" cowl but it's being used on my '69 camaro. I'll also ask someone else that might have one.

The plate looks great but how would that compare to my new plate with the two fogger nozzles in it?

Here's a pic of my '69 with the 6" cowl.
