430+ 355 with stock crank ...is it ok for a 150 shot?
Anyone know the hp limit of the stock crank. I would be running race fuel from an external fuel cell for the fuel side. 12:1 CR currently.
Just wondering what the limit of the stock crank is. I have Forged H-beam rods and Ross forged pistons.

Joel Hester made just a hair over 700 rwhp on the stock crank this was in a Blower App
A Nitrous application sees more of a shockload, so I doubt you would make it that far.....
To be honest, I wouldn't push the issue, especially with the RPMs you've been looking to spin....

I will prolly be looking at 580-590 rwhp and most likely in the mid 650 range on torque. I may just keep it to a 100 shot..who knows. I would prolly shift in the 6500-6700 range on the jug instead of 7000 like I do NA. Of course..all the saftey stuff..window switch not coming on till 4500 and shutting down at 6800, fuel pressure safety switch etc.
Any other thoughts. I know someone out there is running juice on a 400+ rwhp setup with the stock crank.
I'm thinking of this because I'm tired of 2900 lb stangs with blowers/nitrous wanting to run me. They are 400 lbs lighter than I am...and running a power adder..I just want to level theplaying field. Power adder for power adder right? heheheh. Oh well...they still can't beat me like it is..but its too close for comfort.

The crank isnt the real problem. If you run a nitrous system right, and keep it tuned properly, it wont wear the crank. The major problems happen when you start running into detonation, and other anomolies. This is what beats the cranks to death. We have seen over 750 hp (flywheel) with stock cast cranks, in 2 bolt blocks live for a few seasons. If you really want to help the crank out, put in a good set of aluminum rods. They absorb alot of the shock. But they require a bit of work to install them as well.
Just remembered this you posted a while back tim. http://www.exit22.org/warren.html What kind of compression is he running? 300 shot on a stock crank with 2 bolt mains. Dont know about his compression tho. You posted the link, maybe you can find out? HTH.
