175 shot...whats needed?
175 shot...whats needed?
What all would need to be upgraded on an LT1 to safley run a 175 wet shot roughly twice a week on a daily driven car. The short block is about to be apart because it needs rings and I would like to go ahead and throw some forged 30 low compression pistons in (because I plan to run a S/C in the future). So far all I have is a hot cam kit and some EX Hardened push rods. Would this get me around 500 rwhp with a hot cam? Also I am thinking about the cold fusion kit..is this a good kit? Also what all would I need to safley spray a motor often? Window switch? purge? bottle warmer?

The Cold Fusion kit is a very good kit. All of our Cold Fusion kits come with a lifetime warranty and a 100% customer satisfaction policy, if you don't think the kit is a "quality" kit we'll give you a refund.
You'll want some colder plugs; the NGK TR-6s are nice, along with a fuel pressure safety switch, bottle heater, and window switch. What kind of fuel system are you running? Let me know if you have any questions or if you are interested in a CFN kit shoot me a PM and I can work on the price for ya.
Thanks,
Matt

Re: 175 shot...whats needed?
200 SHOT IT, just kidding
Mine held, stock bottom end. Run some Tr-6's, pull some timing 1-2 stock tune, 2-3 for after market tune, if you cant pull tiimg better run straight race gas. But i would pull it out. I know guys that run if off the fuel rail but you might think about a fuel pump, or a stand alone fuel system. The good thing about the stand alone is, you can put race gas in there. The cost is $7.50 for one gallon of the good stuff, vs; $35.00 for four gallon that will mix in your tank. Plus the race gas only comes in when you are needing it, vs; using whats left over on the way home from the track.
Spend the money now on the safety stuff.. , Retune ,Pressure safety switch, gauge, stand alone fuel sys.
The cost is alot cheaper than , buying a new bottom end. IF you are going to do it do it as safe as you can make a 175 shot.
