135000 miles and I want to spray a 100hp shot...This OK???

My car has 135000 on it. I would like to spray a 75-100shot. I just got my tranny rebuilt with a converter and shift kit. (All Heavy duty tranny parts).

I just want to know if I start spraying is my engine going to blow? I am only going to spray rarely but I know Nitrous is bad for cars in general....

What is the best system for Lt1s for for the money?

What are some opinions?

this topic comes up a lot...

a 100 shot should be safe pending that you take the basic precautions...if i were you, i'd get a NX WET kit with a GenX2 upgrade cause you'll need that stuff anyways( purge-not needed but nice and it has a heater-NEEDED)...the MSD digital 6 or at least a MSD 6AL, NGK TRG pugs (one gap colder), window switch and maybe a inline fuel pump if you wanted to be even safer but many peeps do without one...

lots of people have more miles and spray 125-150 shots...so i say 100 shot is definetly do-able...

i have a 100k and all the above stuff along with a non-restrictive exhaust and i think i'm good to go with a 100 shot?

I would say my first question would be how does your car run? If your cars runs good and you keep it in tune I see no reason why you can't put a 100 shot on. I would go with the nx wet kit. And the good thing is if you ever want to swap in the 150 jets they are right there. With a 100 shot I personally wouldn't worry about an inline fuel pump. Get a good ignition (accel 300+, or msd 6al) You should be all set. Oh and swap out those tr55 for TR64177's

A buddy of mine has a 94Z, with every bolt on possible and he's spraying a 100shot with a 160,000 miles on his LT1. Granted he has a MSD ignition box and a larger fuel pump, but his car still runs like a bat out of hell. He has also been spraying for the past 40k miles I believe. Go for it, and enjoy.

I got ya. I have a NX wet kit in the closet and I'm still gathering up supplies ie. plugs, switches, bottle opener ect and then it will be on. I and the other guy with the black 95 TA just ordered the cable for PCMforLess and we are just going to get Bryan to send us the program via email and save a little. There are a few guys trying to get a tire GP going in the GP section so the Nitto 555R's are my tire just in case you want to jump in on it. Oh and you have a PM.

If the f. pump is stock, or even if youre unsure when/if it was ever replaced, Id do it. Cheap insurance IMO...

I do agree with you about changing the fuel pump cause you can never be too carefull with this kind of stuff. If you think that it could be the original or even pretty old, then do the swap for a new one. While your there, you might as well get an upgrade to a Walbro 255, so when you do decide to go to a 150 shot, you'll have enough fuel for the job.

However I cannot say that this is "cheap" insurance. The part isn't too bad as far as cost, but unless you do it yourself and cut a whole in the floor, it will cost a nice penny for labor from what i've heard. I plan on doing this mod also and yes I am going to have to go the hole in the floor route.

P.S. I wouldn't even think about hittin the arming switch without investing in a FPSS(Fuel Pressure Safety Switch). Without this part, things could get very, very ugly!

i agree however i was hardcore on the FPSS idea and i STILL will put it in my car but my car shop (speed inc) one of the head guys (larry) has and knows lt1s and n20 in and out and he said something about the FPSS really not serving a purpose...i know what it does but he said it wouldnt be a factor...regardless for that little piece, i wont take the chance but thats what he said...

I started spraying on my old 95 TA w/ 127K on the odometer. I was using the 5176 kit and was spraying about a 185HP shot. I never had a problem and went through many bottles of juice. I sold the car about a year after putting juice on it w/ 147K miles and never ONCE had a prob. Good luck.
