Is there a dragstrip near San Diego?

I recently moved here and I'm looking for the closest strip. I also recently bought my '99 T/A which needs to be tested!
Thanks in advance,
Geoff

Carlsbad which is a 1/4 mile track and Barona which is 1/8 mile. Just do a search on the web for these track's schedules. Also, check out LS1.com Western Member's section, they have a pretty strong contingent of F-body guys/gals.

They have a cruise the weekend of the 17th meeting off Aero Parkway and the I15 at Fry's Electronics, recommend to come check it out

thanks...30 miles isn't to0 far to drive. The testing is on Saturdays at 11 so does that mean anyone can enter? The site says neutral safety switches are required of all cars...what are they talking about?

Carlsbad's website is http://carlsbadrags.tripod.com/ and Barona's is http://www.baronadragstrip.com/

A neutral safety switch is a device that prevents the car from being started in gear. For an automatic it only starts when the tranny is in park or neutral, and on a stick shift, the car will only start when you press in the clutch pedal. These come standard from the factory, so unless you've disabled it ( like during a tranny swap ), you should have one.

Don't forget about Qualcomm Stadium and their 1/8 mile track.
Since they got new concrete launch pads. 60" are going to get better.
