These movies were took from my crappy digicam, so there's no sound. Lighting wasn't the best either, but it was a great night
I didn't run my car though, I wussed out
Enjoy!

[Edit: They didn't have the ET boards up yet, that's why you don't see times] They will be installed for the next event, which is May 31st I think...

I was there for a while too. I went to get an idea of the racing regs. My GF told me some of the racers weren't wearing helmets but it was too dark for me to tell. All in all there weren't too many fast cars there. I did get to see that Turbo Regal rip that blown 68 Camaro a new one. That thing was fast as hell. The yellow Bug running 10s was pretty impressive too. My favorite race of the evening was an '03 Audi RS 6 taking out an '03 Cobra. The Audi ran a 12.94 @108 and the Cobra ran a 13.01 @110. They really need the ET board up, the PA was cutting out frequently and you couldn't get an idea of how fast people were running. All in all, it was pretty well organized and the turnout was huge.
I might try to race next time. I still need to get my stock ET.

Very Cool, I was ther from about 7:30 until the last race (Yes, after they said they weren't going to run any more
)
Yeah the lighting was kinda bad, and I also confirmed people were runing without helmets, hell some had passenger's
Cool with me though
I didn't see the regal, but I did see the Yellow bug rip off the 10 second run
I also saw the kind in the 2nd gen dsm car get towed off the near lane
There were some pretty quick civic hatches as well, couple of 11's I remember. Definitely looked like the wrx guys need to learn how to launch. All of them dumped the clutch and bogged......
Pasadena huh? I work by green street and madison

I have run there fairly regularly since they opened. I am pretty sure that they follow standard NHRA rules, as in 13.99 and faster need a helmet. They have a listing of the rules off the www.californiaspeedway.com site, just navigate to the dragway links. Some of the techs are VERY strick, others arn't.

. Their web-cite is confusing. Do they have regular test and tune hours (like every Sat. from noon to 5) like other strips? You mentioned you've been going there since it has opened (plural). So I take it you got a better idea of what it's non-advertised operating hours are. Any info. you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks.I wish they had a little more regular hours, the night races this summer, pretty much sums up their schedule. The days they can operate are pretty much dependant on when the speedway is not in use. Towards the end of the summer they will announce their fall schedule, and so on.
They seem to follow NHRA rules pretty closely. Tech gave my buddy a hard time in his impala about not having a loop and using his ET streets.
Later,
Jeff
