Question NHRA National event 10/23-26 and hotels?

All you Vegas locals I need some info please.

I am coming down for the NHRA national event the weekend of 10/23-26th. I am going to drive down from Washington state probably leaving 10/20 spend a day or so in Vegas proper, on the strip then spend the rest of the days at the races and the nights on the strip.

Which hotels are near the Vegas motor complex and which ones would you recomend for reasonable rates?

Thanks, Ken

P.S. I am not driving the Z28 Camaro down I will be driving my much more comfortable Z71 Silverado!

Actually, "The Strip" (race track) is at the extreme northern end of Las Vegas next to I15. While it's not all that far from the "Strip" (bright lights on the south end of town), since the town isn't really that big, there are many more reasonable and more convenient places to stay for race fans. I suggest that you search through Expedia, Yahoo, or some other search engine to locate one of the outlying hotels in the northern end of town (Texas Station is one that comes to mind) for better rates and less hassle. Of course, if you like fighting the congestion on Las Vegas Boulevard (the "Strip") then there is no substitute for the action there.

If you make it to the race, stop by and say "Hello." I'll be there with probably the only LT1 Super Stocker (97 WS6, white and yellow) in the field, not to be confused with probably a dozen or more LT1 and LS1 Stockers. It's easy to spot the difference. They have 9" wide slicks and I have 14".

Good luck,

Chuck

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks for the replies you guys. I will call the track and see if they have any package deals or just call Texas station and see what the have to offer.

Chuck, I will make a point of looking for you.
