New to Socal
Hey everyone. I recently moved here from NY. I live in Corona and I'm looking to meet up with some people. Back in NY I was pretty heavy into DSM's (Talon, Eclipse, Laser) but now that I can drive RWD year round I've got myself a 97 z28. Any info as to meets, local tracks, anything would be great! Looking forward to meeting some people!!!
Re: New to Socal
welcome aboard. I was also previously a DSM owner. I owned a 22psi T3/T4 5spd chrysler sebring (with 420A Eclipse engine) and soon after purchased a 18psi 97 GS-T. R.I.P. on both of those cars. The sebring was broken into and vandalized. I sold the eclipse to my neighbor........which he just totally destroyed the engine/trans due to irresponsibility with maintenance.

Wow that Sebring sounds awesome! I'm trying to get a friend of mine (lives back east) to turbo his 420a Avenger. Did you use the Hahn kits? To bad about your 97. Thats a great example of why DSM's get a bad rep for reliability. Kids just beat the hell out of them and then complain when something breaks. I owned a 91 TSI AWD that I bought with 125,000 miles. I drove it till 135,000 (less then a year later) with nothing but a Dejon Upper pipe and free mods. Then I bought a 92 6/4 bolt. I drove that one from 136k to 160k in about 9 months!!! I through a 2.5 inch Buscher turbo back, boost controller, rewired the fuel pump, bunch of free mods. It was on the stock clutch at 160k so my quarter times sucked. I sold the 91 to a friend of mine and he's still driving it with over 150k, and he just installed a small 16g, ported 2g mani...bunch of other ****. I considered buying another one out here in Cali but all this emission crap scares me. Back east I ran an open exhaust daily driven!!! Sorry for the novel. So are there any car meets around here??? I'm dying to cruz but I dont know my way around!!!

There's no confirmed date that I know of for this show though. Every year, it's been held sometime in May.

Dam, you ran an open exhaust daily driven back East? Here in Cali., that's like beggin' for your car to towed. Definitely not a novel. It's good to hear about another 4cyl owner convert over to a V8. It's definitely a night and day difference, huh? I'm not involved with any car clubs myself. However, I do attend some of the group meets the different fbody websites organize. There's 2 big events I know of that are coming up.
