Thumbs up Need help planning roadtrip!

A group of 6 of us are going form Texas to Lake Tahoe for some skiing. We are driving and want to get some input from you local guys. We are planning on hitting Vegas and Hoover Dam, but we are open to anything else. We will be staying in Tahoe for 6 nights, and we are planning on leaving on the 27 of Dec 2003.

TIA!
Ryan

Wow, you fellas sure do plan in advance!

If coming all the way out west, have you considered hitting up Utah? SoCal skiing sucks the big one in comparison.

I have heard Utah skiing is unreal. However, a friend's parents has a timeshare in Lake Tahoe, so they are hooking us up with 7 nights in their condo for 100 bucks each . Not many options there.

Wanna join us? 500 miles from reno, 270ish from Vegas...

If you plan on driving on hwy 395 (hwy east of the Sierra's), DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT especially when you drive into small towns. CHP's are like hawks over there. If you don't know hwy 395, you can catch it near Barstow on I-15 (i think) and cuts lots of time off your drive. 395 will get you near South Lake Tahoe (follow signs in LT) or if you stay on it, near North Lake Tahoe.

Since you have Vegas planned on your trip, there's nothing else i would do!

The slopes in Utah are indeed unreal. Other than Colorado, I refuse to ski anywhere else!

Join ya? Hmmmm....... Although I don't have any plans yet for 12/03, I do plan on being seriously strapped for cash around that time! Thanks for the offer, though.
