Might be selling or parting out Lt4 383 motor

Here are the specs:

This motor was Build by Mark from Andy's Performance last year before his accident. The car has no more than 100 miles, never raced just test driven.

4bolt main block
Forged 383 scat crank, pistons, rods, etc
SVO 30lbs injectors
BBK 58 throttle body
Stage 3 LT4 AFR 195CC heads
Port matched lt4 intake
Custom grind cam 617/640 244/244
vented opti,
heavy duty timing chain
Mezier HD water pump and lot of more stuff.
Edwright chip, car still needs some more tunning.

Heads alone were more than 3K.
block with 383 kit/cam lifters, pushrods, etc was 4k.
Total I piad close to 9k. Mark said the car would dyno between 430-450rwhp depending on tunning and bigger injectors. I left to school before th car was built. Returned a couple time to test drive and left so I never had a chance to enjoy car. I won't be drag racing anymore so I don't have a need for all this power. Going back to stock and need money to pay my school loans. Looking to get at least 6500 bucks for complete motor or I will part out. Would prefer to sell locally, since I have never shipped a motor. If I don't have much luck here I might post the motor on ebay, want to try here first. If you are close by you can come see the motor in two weeks when I go back home. I live in downtown LA.

Email me at jmp33@comcast.net or call me.

I watched Mark Avila build part of this motor. He didn't even wash his hands after dropping a duece. Look at his pics, and see how dirty that shop was. You don't build a good case of hemorroids in an atmosphere like that, much less a motor. This motor won't last 500 miles, just like any of his others he built before he was happily taken from us.

To ANYONE THINKING about this motor OR ANY MOTOR from Mark Avila.... BEWARE!!!

Mark built my motor and it lasted about 5000 miles. After it going south, bearing were all through the copper, bad scuffing on the cylinder walls, cam was a JUNK piece off the shop floor (I paid him for a new one), timing chain was the wrong piece and GROUND the TC cover to clearance it! the center 4 bolt mains BROKE!!!!! Only the ends were holding it together. I paid for forged crank and got cast and the list goes on.

Prospective Buyers:
-Plan on disassembling the motor and VERIFYING everything that is quoted is there.
-Plan on having someone else check his work.. i.e. clearances, machining, DIRT, cheap parts
-Plan on checking with Race Prep about the heads. He lied about where he was getting work done... and i know this FIRST HAND!
-Plan on using this engine for parts (once verified) and plan on using a different block (machining was HORRIBLE on mine)

I was in the process of suing his @$$ but then he bit the dust... I'm not sure if I'm more pissed off that he defrauded me out of 4k (plus damage to my car) or HAPPIER this lowlife f**kface is dead... I think I'm happier that he's DEAD!

Sorry wickdracer but the public has to know what kind of bastard Mark was...

Re: Might be selling or parting out Lt4 383 motor

This is going to all those people talking trash. I don’t get upset that you guys are saying the motor is no good, I could care less. What is f**cked up is that you guys are talking about my good friend. There is no need for you to talk or go online and talk $hit about Mark when he is dead. That is the worst thing a human, if that’s what you guys are, talking crap about a dead person. In life you will do business with many people, sometimes its not going to workout and sometimes it will thats a fundamental of business. I had a motor built a couple years ago by anther shop in Southern CA, not saying cause I don’t want to burn anyone, and the truth was that the motor was $hit. I ended up losing lots of money since the motor was only covered for 3k miles. That shop is still doing well and has tons of happy customers; I was one of those unfortunate customers that had a bad luck. I met Mark after this and he has built 6 motors and worked on all our cars, 383s lt1s ls1s and regular 350s for other cars. Only one time did I have a problem and he fixed it. I know Mark also f*ucked up but that’s how this automotive business is, some customers will be happy and some won’t. But I guarantee you that there are hundreds more that will agree with me and only a handful of you stupid piece of $hits. So please if a man is dead keep it to yourself, be respectful he has a mon and dad and family that love him.

By the way if by making these comments you think you will recover your money or get some satisfaction then come and say this to me in person, here is my address.

Re: Might be selling or parting out Lt4 383 motor

Sorry Manny.. I disagree. The auto business is NOT about screwing people. It's one thing is something went wrong but its quite another when you KNOWINGLY put used parts when you pay for new ones or pay for forged and receive a cast crank. I know of quite a few people that Mark screwed and there was a LINE of people trying to collect their deposits from Mark but there was no money or parts. Mark 'built' a motor for a guy i know and it was WAY outta balance.. soooo bad that it rattled his hood shut. You know what mark told him "Drive it and it will get better". Yeah... whatever... The ONLY people that he gave 2 ***** was his friends.... i.e. Micah, Tony, and prolly you.

And for the record, I NEVER said your motor was no good. I said EVERYTHING should be checked out. Please re-read. Based on my and others experience, thats a logical assumption to make.

And if I still lived in LA, I would pay you a visit and say EVERYTHING to your face. I did it to Tony when I called his @$$ out so I have NO problems doing it to you. My money is long gone... I'm not getting a cent back but I THRILLLED this bastard is dead so he can't screw anyone else.

Ok, well, it seems we know about the engine for sale.
Good luck with the sale, and enough of the personal attacks.
