The Mac headers do not come with a CARB tag, but has all the smog hook ups. Hope that helps.

You can still install them in California without the CARB stick, you will need to go to a referee station... make an appointment. If it passes, they will give you an exempt sticker that you can show smog techs from that point forward. However, you are banking that smog techs can interpret referee stickers.

Yeah i never heard of that before either. Can you explain it a little more on how it works. Also do macs relocate your cats at all. Because if so i should be able to do the same with as&m headers as long as i keep two cats right?

if that was true it would be outstanding, but i think the kicker with the cats is that you cant move them, alter them, add one, or remove one. so if you had to move them more rearward on the car you would fail. from the looks of them, i dont think the mac headers move the cats at all, its just headers and a better (replacment) y pipe from what i can tell. sure hope im right

Yeah, I'd recommend calling a referee station to get the details. I asked this question earlier which is why I'm relaying the information now. However, that is what I've been told. If the referee authorizes the sticker and that it does pass, you will be ok.

I'm in Chicago training techs. I haven't looked into it. I'll be back in Cali mid-November. Someone should be able to contact a Ref Station to get the final word.

Wow

That is very But how much are they going to charge for the smog exempt sticker, Macs aren't cheap, then adding to that, could really put a hole in one's pocket.

Re: mac headers

I doubt this will work in CA. If you relocate/remove/modify the factory
catalytic(s) in any way you are not legal (if they notice). So the bottom
line is it's a gamble. Are you willing to gamble?
