Since I am thinking of moving there, I was wondering how easy it is to get a carry and concealed weapons permit, must you be a resident? I know I must live there for one year to get residency, I plan on going to LA county, which they might not allow them there-not really sure. If not could I go to another county get one, and just carry in LA.

 

It's damn near impossible to get one here.


Only law enforcement, politicians, judges and celebrities get them. For the average Joe, chances are you won't get it, unless you can prove someone is actively trying to kill you


California is one of the few states that refuse to go "shall-issue". It's still "may-issue" here. Which usually means no.


The best county though, in San Bernadino County.

BTW: you have to live in the county which issued your CCW.
