All the Iraq desert stuff was filmed at White Sands and many base scenes were spilt between Holloman in Alamagordo and Kirtland in Albuquerque.

Beautiful places....I was raised out in the Las Cruces area....in a little town called San Miquel, which is right next to La Mesa where you have Chope's.

My wife and I are looking to move out to the ABQ area possibly in the next few years...maybe leaning towards Santa Fe area.

The majority of the city at the end was Detroit, mabye not as obvious to the outsiders but it seemed like they switched back and forth alot especially with Michigan Central station. When the kid is running to the building with the statues on the roof its the abandoned Michigan Central Railway station off of Michagan Ave (which is not downtown), when he gets to the roof it looks like a 4 story wharehouse but the interiors and exteriors where Prime is running on the roof are correct. I think most of the fight between Megatron and Prime was shot infront of the old GM headquarters. Anyway, it was nice to see Detroit represented even if not by name.

I know Las Cruces as well as I have spent many Friday nights eating at Chope's New Mexico State University graduate Spring 2002 and I was born and raised in the Silver City area prior to living in Cruces for 9 years.

If you haven't been to Cruces recently or seen pictures, things have changed BIG time in the short time I have been gone alone.

My wife and I head back every year...I have a good childhood friend I keep in contact with and my godfather has a pecan farm in San Miquel, not far from Stahmans.

You can see some pictures of Shiprock that my wife and I took a few years ago.

I took my wife there the first year we went out there. I was there as a kid so I knew remembered the place and I wanted her to see it.

Last year we ended up in Glenwood in Catron countyfor the second time and went to the Catwalk...now that is a pretty cool place with a lot of little bridges...even a suspension bridge to cross.

Tonto's Natural bridge in AZ is pretty cool too. We go to a lot of places...particularly ghost towns.

The catwalk, Gila cliff dwellings, The City of Rocks, all that was basically my back yard for 18 years. That is cool you guys go visit all the ghost towns and stuff like that, those are very cool places that are easily over looked by many who travel those areas.
