Central to Northern Arizona people....

Any snow on the ground in Flagstaff? How about Williams? I'm taking a trip to the Grand Canyon in 2 weeks. Gonna ride the train to the bottom of the canyon, and do some other stuff. Haven't been to the Canyon since I was 10.

Anyway... I'm just wondering if I'm going to encounter snow on my trip. I'm driving my new car, and I'd like to avoid any snow and the salt that comes along with it.

Re: Central to Northern Arizona people....

There are.. however Flagstaff is about 2 hours (and 4000 ft in elevation) away...
Last I heard the warm rain we've been having took care of the snow on the ground in Flagstaff and Williams, however there are storms coming in for the weekend which may dump some more snow. The same holds true for the South Rim and Grand Canyon Villiage (Which is where the train ride ends).
If you want to avoid the weather I'd wait a couple months.

Shoot... We took the latest reservations we could take and still get our deal. Oh well. At least I'll get some pretty pics.

Do you know if they throw salt on the ground up there if there's snow on the roads?

Thanks Val

You'll have some very pretty pictures!

Someone else might have to chime in on this one for confirmation.. but to my knowledge it's not salt they put down .. it's some sort of cinders type stuff. Just wash your car's underside off when you finally get home and it should be OK.
