Anyone from Arizona?
My mother & sister are traveling out to Phoenix, Arizona January 7-11, 2003. They are staying at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. What is the weather like then? Any recommendations on things to do? ...See? ...anything off the beaten path? I know they plan on doing a "pink jeep" tour and also going to Sadona, but is there anything else? Is it worth travelling into Mexico for the day? ...Suggestions? ...Ideas? Thanks. Jeff
Howdy!
I've been living in Phoenix a little over 3 years--places I would recommend:
Sedona (very scenic)
Grand Canyon (have to see at least once)
Top of the "Rim" in Payson
Nogales, Mexico (Mexico & Arizona border south of Tucsan) if you like to "shop"
If they want to see some snow (maybe not), Flagstaff, & Sunrise
The drive to these places can be pretty scenic as well.
The weather in January can be a little on the cold side (depending upon your definition of "cold")--I'd say 50's as an average, although the high-country (Flagstaff, Prescott, Grand Canyon) can be *much* colder.
