82z96ss, your sig says you have a c5r motor, do you mean just the block or does it actually have the c5r heads? If it has the heads could you post more about the setup like what kind of manifold, C/R, cam specs also how high you spin the motor.
Thanks
Mike

The ZL1 motors were/are built at GMMG in Marietta, GA. I dont know about where the rest of the car was assembled, probably berger?

THe ZL1 as well as the Berger SS are built by GMMG. THe C5R motor in the Phase 3 ZL1's are the C5R block with the Moddified LS6 heads. The motor is built by DEI inc. and installed by GMMG.

Sorry I don't have any specs right now on the motor.

They have all been bought. People are trying to get around 80,000 for there ZL1. Already trying to make a profit.

Kandied they might be overrated now, just like the older ones were overrated then.

They are all impressive and fun to look at drive and own to me.

see i don't see it that way....

the old ones were special on their own if not for the power but the fact they were such few in numbers. attend superfest in ann arbor and look at how many of the berger owners are upset when their numbers fall short on the dyno. i'm not saying that they aren't nice cars. i'm just saying you can do alot more for your own money on a cheaper version, but there is always that person who wants to say they own a piece of "berger" history. more power to them, just not on the road.

How much did they sell for from the dealership?

Just think the motor alone in a 69 COPO was more than the car was. The camaro was around 3,000 and the 427 was an extra 4000.00. The motors were detuned from chevy at 450. Luck would have it an owner of the orginal 427 could rejet and tune well above 500 hp.

I would love go to a car show like Super Car Reunion, where the owners of COPO, ZL1, Motion, Yenko and others will be attending.

ZL1 started around 60,000
