Timberwolf, think you could stop by this coming weekend and help me get my car back together after taking the AC out??? You have mentioned it a few times and it sounds like you know what you are doing.

Doesn't matter what day, I was thinking Saturday just so I could have anther day incase stuff doesnt work out. I am taking the engine out, so today I got almost everything out of the way, and took the compressor right out. Just seems like a waste of time and money trying to put it back on the new engine, since it doesn't even work right now. What day would work for you?

not sure yet. do you have the 1le delete pulley? You'll need it to run the accessory belt unless you ditch the power steering too

How does that pulley go on? It doesn't seem like there would be anything for it to attach to. I thought I just needed a smaller serpentine belt.

the pulley comes with a bracket that bolts to the holes not used by the a/c compressor anymore. even uses the same bolts.
It's about $40 from gmpartsdirect.com

Okay, I guess I will have to buy that too. What other stuff can come off with the AC? Seems like there are about 100 hoses just for that. I also won't need the little radiator that sits in front of the big one right? But then how does the big one hold in place?

If I can get up there this weekend I will show you a bunch of tricks, depending on how far you want to go with your diet plan

What are your plans for the car? Want to keep heat or not? There is a lot more weight that can be removed when you ditch the heater core and a/c core, all the ductwork, the blower motor, the plenum, airbags, etc

The a/c condensor comes out easily and the radiator is still held in place by the core support cover just as before

Well, I think thats about all I want to do for weight reduction now, although I don't really need heat either... Right now my plans are to just get the car running. My new engine should be here tomorrow, and I want to start on it soon. You don't happen to have a happy hooker by any chance do you?

Is the black pump on the drivers side that bolts to the front of the engine part of the AC system?

LOL, the happy hooker just bolts to the fuel rails or whatever and makes the engine easier to pull. Let me know what day this weekend you might be available when you find out.

Sure. Do you want just the 13.29 run, all your runs, all f-body runs, or the whole tape?

whatever is easiet for you man! don't put too much effort into it...so if it's easier to do the whole tape and just let it run, that's fine

Actually I can make you your very own copy! I didn't get the track guys pushing it back leaving driveshaft chunks all over though.
