Stock 132k mile lt1 motor...stock suspension and drivetrain, on stock wheels and greasy GSC tires... only mods are !cat, !muffler, LPE CAI, and some diet magic...

TW does the happy dance

And then, we all need to bow our heads and have a moment of silence for Chad's car...

no real secret... just honest weight loss. Pulled all the stock seats and installed a Jaz racing seat. The usual stuff is gone...jack, spare, etc. Also pulled the cat and muffler and replaced them with straight pipes for weight savings an free flowing gases. I pulled the AIR, a/c and ALL related parts, heater core, HVAC assembly and controls. The heavy rubber pad under the dash cap is gone too.

I think thats about it. pretty much everything else is stock. So I think with some more creative dieting and some good air it's gonna be tickling the 13.0s

You forgot the 1/2 of firewall you pulled. Poor chads car My 1st time racing I got 8 runs in with Mike and Becca, best time was 13.76 @ 102.46. That's with a stock car, that's not bad is it?

the half a firewall is the HVAC stuff I mentioned

Your times are pretty good for never having raced before anywhere...and with a 6 speed

Scattered the driveshaft on the first green light of the night He had to leave the car there. I am supposed to see if I can line up a tow dolly for the morning, but I can't get ahold of the guy that owns it tonight, and I have to be in Ann Arbor by 10 am tomorrow.

Anyone else that can meet him there and give him a tow back to kzoo? He needs to do it ealry because he is supposed to leave for saginaw after lunch I think

All I know of are the aluminum shafts. I know where a few of them are located.

As for the install, we got everything back together except the drivers side header. Seems the new oil pan and the header dont like each other. I will pick up a new plug for that side of the pan and a bigger hammer tomorrow Should have it done tomorrow sometime. Just need to finish the header and stuff it back in the car. From there it is all easy stuff.

Thanks to Ben and Chris for the help. Much appreicated as always.

If you crap out on a way to get your car. Give me a call. I'm all set up to transport f-bodys to and from the track
In other words my truck and trailer are ready to go if you need them.

Thanks guys. I am getting ready to call U-haul to find one of the two wheel dollies to get it back home. I've got the Yukon to pull it with, I just need to get something to put the car on. I was underneath it last night in the dark removing all the carnage.

Let's just say that the driveshaft loop is a VERY good investment for everybody. A front loop at a minimum and preferably a back one too. My 3 1/2" Dynotech Engineering driveshaft that I just paid to have shortened when the car was at Speedworks is now in 4 pieces.

This was on Nitto's and an easy launch with the Street Twin.

What you have to watch with a dolly and a Firebird is the nose. It will hit the dolly before the tires get to the ramps. Maybe take some boards to roll the car up on prior to the ramps?
My offer still stands. I can go get it with the trailer if you want.

Chad, I also have my aluminum driveshaft here that you could use. It is a extra, and then you could drive her home. Give me a beep if you need it.
