Remember when we got so carried away that Jason (as an f-body.org moderator) threatened to shut us down?
I about had an effing meltdown. I was ready to call the ACLU, the Anti-Defamation League, the NAACP...... anyone who would join the fight against oppression and censorship and was willing to bear arms for the right to free speech.
LOL

When I picked my username I was more concerned with getting my questions answered in some of the forums here than anything else.
I tried some even more generic ones first before I got to the one I have now but they were all taken, lol.

Maybe even a little earlier, IIRC.

We need a time machine!
All my friends call me Chris or Frez - so I put the two together. I used to go by the name Turbo6 back in the BBS days (when I owned a Grand National).
Randy - i've been on those listserves forever as well! I got on back in 1994 when the lists were being run by Pierre on a University of Washington box, then somebody at Cisco took them over, then Rob registered f-body.org and took them for good. Not much traffic nowadays on the MI lists.

I think I joined in 97, back when Patman was being driven up the wall by a malfunctioning heater (or something like that)...... not good for a Canuk!
Yes, the last nail in the MI list's coffin was the emergence of a regional internet message board powahouse..... Camaroz28.com!!

Randy remember Crazy Mike? the guy with the black 96 6speed Z28? he was like 16 or 17 at the time of the lists? He was the guy that kept breaking rear ends.. lol
I came here in the summer of 2002 after I met Harold (Black Sunshine) at Martin one night (and drooled over his SS). He gave me the URL and told me his screen name, so in the next few days after that I was thinking of what to have as my screen name when I joined. Jimmy Hendrix's "Purple Haze" has been my car's theme song from the beginning, so I decided to use that and add my car's year at the end. PurpleHaze95.

He came to Dyno Day @ MMC and he looked about 14. HInk kept sneaking up behind him and talking his prison b!tch trash. I think he scared the crap out of him..... he disappeared shortly after.
He used to talk about doing stupid **** all the time and I think he finally went to jail for breaking into pay phones with car antennas.
See, Dave..... we have a time machine.

I filled his n20 tank last summer for him..
He put a 12 bolt in his Z! and he was sold the GTP i believe. He was running a 3.4 pulley on a completely stock car and was beating on it..
He actually was running his own small computer building and tech buisness i believe..
He is on aol im a lot.. I have his screen name somewhere.

I don't think I was gonna shut anything down, I was put in place of "list moderator" because I agreed to do so when I talked Rob Glover into creating the list in the first place. If I didn't agree to moderate it, the list wouldn't get created. That took several weeks to talk Rob into it.
So what do I get for my efforts? FILTH. Tons of filth. I didn't care much since I thought it was funny, but due to my dumb position I couldn't show it. UGH. It did get kinda personal when some of th filth was directed ay my (then) girlfreind's SEVERELY underage sister. I think she was 13 at the time. Sickos.

I'd get a few complaints a week from people who joined the list hoping to talk about cars and stuff and seeing all the dirty posts. I'd get complaints like "I just joined this list and all I get are e-mails about ****." Blah, blah, blah. This was of course when that f-body.org lists were pretty busy.
So after all that, I had to step in and ask you guys to chill out on it all.
I probably came off thew wrong way, and man, was THAT a mistake!
After some pretty serious backlash, I realized that I didn't want to be in that position, so I said screw it and managed to wriggle my way out of the "moderator position". Good thing. After that I think everyone shifted over to talking about HInk's daughter anyway.

It was something like that, anyway. I still have ALL the e-mails related to that and then some, I should go through them again just for fun. Those were good times, regardless.
