WTB: Dana 60 front axle

I'm looking for a complete Dana 60 front axle for a dodge full size 4X4 pickup. I will even consider buying a complete truck if it has the right axles and transfer case. These axles came on 4X4 heavy duty 3/4 dodge trucks and 1 ton dodge trucks. I can't use dually axles. I prefer axles from 1982 to 1993. If anyone knows of any please let me know, thanks.

good luck

I'm looking for 1 or 2 for a Chevy truck, but they are getting a little hard to find

Dodges should be a little easier to find

do you need one with CAD(central axle disconnect)?

Bzzzt! Oh I'm sorry, the answer we were looking for is "They are very hard to find." Better luck next time. Here's your lovely parting gift.

I had a 91 4x4 Ramcharger and wanted to upgrade the d44 in front to a 60 and could not find one anywhere. People have them, but don't want to sell. I think that stands true for all old fullsize trucks. They are hard to come buy now adays since the junk ones are waiting to be fixed up and the good ones are tons of money.

I'm looking for one for my blazer and one for a friend with a 85 chevy pick-up, he wants to go to 44 in tires, I want his current (3 month old, ran off road once, 510 miles street, still have the nubbs) 38.5 boggers

Yeah, I know they are hard to find but I am still looking, like I said, I would even buy a complete truck if I could for under $2,000. I don't want center axle disconnect, I want manual hubs. This is rediculous that the new trucks aren't built nearly as strong as the old trucks.
On my brothers dodge, we have replaced ball joints about 4 times each, broke the spider gears once and other stuff and we only run 35's on the Dana 44 axle. Although this kind of reassures me that my Heavy Duty Dana 44 on my corvette should be able to handle 26 or 28" slicks being that we have never broke the gear or pinion yet and my vette doesn't have any ball joints.

You can get Dana 60's out of late model Dodges too. But those go for upwards of 2 large. Find a bare housing, and build it.

I have no problem building up an dana 60 but I still need the axle housing and spindles and such. I want a older axle, not a newer dodge model because the newer dodge dana 60's have ball joints, the older model dana 60's used kind pins which is what I want.

hey jp2002 i have a 83 ford f-350 with i think dana front and back! And im selling the whole thing for $1500, cause i over revved the motor racing a rustang and i dont have the time or money to repair it! Truck has 6-8 inch lift, 38.5x14.5 tires on 16.5 rims! Solid body other than rust on the rims of the wheel wells, not alot! And a scratch the passenger side rear quarter panel from the tree branch! Engine when it was running had 500 hp, does did a clutch. I never had any problems with it! Interior is good! Great truck but i cant keep it and dont have the money to fix it! It needs total with everything i can think to get it looking mint and running mint $2500-$3500. Thats engine work, tires, clutch, fixing rust spots, alignment! engine was originally balanced up to 7000 rpms, has been in contest and won mud and sand awards! New tires with pressure lowered and engine running good will pull the front tires off the ground like a real monster truck! When i bought it, i seen a picture of the old mans son driving and had them a foot, foot and a half off the ground! i pulled against 10-15 other trucks and never lost!

Fords have the drop (diff) on the wrong side, Fords are drivers side drop and Dodge/Chevy are pass side drop, there are other differences, that is the big one

Thanks Devenomer but I think I will stick to the dodge axles, I have looked into using ford axles but the divorced transfer case and everything would be too much work. It sounds like a cool truck and I will tell my friend about it who is into fords. I basically need a D60 for my brothers project.
