WTB: 4.3l for a 94 Chevy 1500 Pickup

I'm looking for a 4.3 for my truck. Not sure if mine is rebuildable yet, anyone know of any motors? Email me at nbasic@comcast.net Thanks.

why not just put a 305 in it. I have one sitting here I'll let go real cheap. I'll also keep my eye open if I see any 4.3's for sale.what did you do to the eng. that your not sure if its rebuildable?

Just starting the crazy thing. Motor made about 1/2 of a revolution and locked up. I think the head gasket started to go the day I parked it and filled a cylinder that just happened to be on the compression stroke. More than likely it just blew the top out of the piston. It finally started but it's bangin hard. I did toss around the idea of putting a V8 in it.

Well I was wrong on what I thought was the problem. One of the screws for the injectors loosened up and got sucked in. Got past the intake valve and tore the heck out of the top of the piston, in turn, the cylinder cracked and the exhaust valve got bent. Motor is scrap. Now I got a line on a $1500 crate 4.3.....or do I track down a 350 TBI for it. Anyone know of any?

Or the other option.....sell the truck...it's a 94 W/T 1500 4x4 reg. cab long box

What kind of 4.3 do you need 94 was a transitional year vortec and non vortec yes the valve covers say vortec on both but the intake manifold changed bolts, If you decide to sell the truck let me know as I am a 4.3 junky

The valve cover says Vortec, like you said. It's a TBI motor with a balance shaft and I'm assuming a roller cam, it has retainers for the lifters. The truck is in great shape and I don't want a payment again, so I'd really like to fix it.

I also have a 93ish 4.3 motor that is probably just like yours . it says Vortec on the intake cover iirc. but I was told it had a rod knock. I bought it for the heads but never ended up using it. 100bucks for that one also.

If it's something I have to rebuild, it would cost me about $900 to have one fully machined and rebuilt....and I got a line on a crate motor for $1500. Sucks, I don't know what I want to do.
