I have 20% on my side windows and limo on the back and have never been pulled over for it in the 6 years that I have had them tinted. That might be because the windows are always down unless it is raining.

BTW, limo on our back windows makes it really difficult to see out the back.

State law is any percentage on sides and front up to 6" down and no regulations on the back. I have 35% on my front, drivers side and passenger windows, and 20% on the back 3 windows. I got pulled over once 2 days after I bought the car, but havent had any problems in the last 6 months. I drove my Cutlass around with the same setup for 3 years without any issues.

Like someone said, you can only have part of the side windows done, but I'm pretty sure its 4", not 6".

I have 5% all around on my car though, had it all summer and haven't gotten pulled over yet. At first, I always tried to roll the windows down when I saw a cop. But now I don't do anything.

If I get pulled over, I will just switch plates with a guy who has the same car as me, and doesn't have his windows tinted

DO NOT go to Sun-Shade in Troy on Maple/15 mile. I paid them a lot of money to do a crummy job and they would not fix it without me paying again. Gee...after me paying over $400 for a titanium tint job on all 4 pieces of glass, you would think they would be willing to ensure that I was happy with their work. I was not happy, and not satisfied.

I had to pay someone else to attempt to fix what they f***ed up.

Plus their razor etched a nice permanent line around my rear hatch glass when they were cutting the tint pattern. Nice. There is real care of a customer's car for you.

Here is the whole story:

One thing I forgot to mention in that thread, they tinted a window that had flaws in it. I wondered why they did that, well I figured it out. They knew I would have to get it fixed so they could hit me for another fee for re-tinting it.

Call up Scott at Club Conceptz, tell him I sent you and have him call his tint guy, the one that helped me fix my car. His name is Jason also and he is a good guy.

I don't like the look of tint.

Just my $0.02

Can she buy you some other mod instead, that isn't so risky?

It CAN'T be that simple. If it is, someone tell me which Sears this works at!

I have never been pulled over for tint. Probably because I am very cautious. Roll 'em down when you see a cop, and use a radar detector and common sense.

Not to mention, my car is FAR from a daily driver so my odds are less of getting pulled over in my car for anything.

Its even simpler than that. I scanned my friends doctor note, changed the name and now I'm set, if I ever get pulled over again...

I have a DRs note that I got back in high school for my eyes. I have the darkest tint on both of the Camaros and have not had any problems. Sure I get pulled over, but once I show them the note they are okay with it. The Secretary of State also let me know that any vehicle in the househould can have tint as long as the note is with the vehicle.

You really cant tell on my car because the difference isnt that much. I've seen people do Limo on the back and 50% on the front and it looks retarded, but a small difference wont even be noticable.

Whoa, some risky business there. What you've done is a felony in Michigan. Some cops actually phone the doctor's office to confirm the veracity of the note in hand. Trust me, I know.

Secretary of State is not correct on this issue. The medical note is ONLY for the person who's name appears on the note. YOUR particular medical condition doesn't extend to other members of your family. If someone is driving your car with tinted windows and they do not posses a note in THEIR name then they're guilty of violation 257.709 of the Vehicle Code.

Another potential problem is the age of the note/prescription. Most courts require notes to be dated within a year or two. Showing an officer a note that's 5-6 years old may not stand legal scrutiny.

Have a nice day,
