Just give her the money and she'll get them for you.

Congrats to Al and any other N vs. S winners who are reading this. *cough Derty cough*
Thanks
Derty was totally traction limited and he's working on that now.

Yup Harlan and I both took a pair of six speed trophies home as well. I took home the Modified Six Speed NA and Harlan took the Pure Street Six Speed PA. All while blowing the tires completely off the car. The 28's showed up today. Time for some fender fabrication!!!

Well as you have read Al, Harlan, and Derty did well and won trophies. Here is some results:

Tom Kempf- managed a 9.6x@140+

Taner- ran a 9.60 @141+ in one of the closest races of the day against the Catek Camaro, it was door to door. The Cartek Z ran a 9.50!

Wade- LS1 Z,ran an 8.83@159mph, but later lost the trans. A little off the record run a few weeks back, 8.6's @161+.

Barry- ran a 9.6x in his 67 Camaro fitted with a 427ci LS1, sweet ride!!

Roman- managed to tap a few high 9's with his best pass of the day being a 9.80. However he hurt the motor on that pass, and from what I saw it was serious. Hopefully he'll come back stronger than ever!

Cartek- ran a series of mid-low 9's with their Camaro, Blue LT1 Z. And their sponsored electron blue Z06 was very quick, low 11's high 10's all day, maybe 10-15 passes. Very impressive!

Eastside- ran a best of 9.18 and won the King Of The Hill. Silver LS1 Z.

Harlan-had a series of mid-low 10's all day with a best of 10.1x I beleive. Speeds in the 136-138 range!

Stenod- TT 02 Black SS, picked up a new best of 11.18 @123 the car looked good and knocked it down!!

There was another impressive Collectors Edittion T/A there with a TT setup and ran low 10's @134. It was showcar quality as well.

Ron Duke- black WS6 vert, ran a few 9's with his blown LS1.

Thats about all the results I have from MotownMuscle.

Okay..

I bought my Stage 2 Head Cam from them, I dont like the cam nick sells me.. he says if i dont like it after running it i can swap it out free of charge.

after waiting months.. Taner brings it home for me.

Im thinking awesome.. fulley assembled heads, cam and pushrods.

package is installed.. Pushrods too short!

Call Nick, Oh your supposed to use the shims we sent you..

I am? okay when can i have them?

Nevermind I will buy them myself a second time to have them asap locally! grrr

get a call from aggressive, the cars together but wont run.

It wont? why not?

We arent sure, We'll call ARE..
ARE wasnt much help.. they just asked us if we knew what we are doing..

1 week goes by.. I post my problem at ls1tech.com

Get an email from another ARE customer with a 98..

Did Nick tell you that the valve covers wont clear the new double springs?

NO HE DIDNT! arrgg

Call ARE... Nick isnt avail. Talked to Barry instead..

Barry says.. Oh yeah on the 98's once you run them the springs grab onto the valve cover and wont allow the valves to close.. Nick didnt tell you?
ARHHHHHHHHHHHH

Valve covers clearenced.. who knows if any damage was done in the meantime.. ARE says nothing

Car makes a lackluster 380rwhp....

Have no flow #'s or receipt from ARE.. email Barry twice to finally get info. yay

Start to question head flow #'s on ls1tech.com after lackluster track MPH and Dyno..

Barry Says for more money after you pay to remove your heads and send them to us, we can do an update since your heads suck. Then you can pay someone to reinstall them.. GRRRR

Receive email from former owner of ARE Nick.. Why are you talking bad about me on the internet?! wants me to call him in toronto..

I try to call multipul times, finally decide to email nick back and tell him all the problems he caused me.. NO REPLY.. not even an im sorry.

email Barry twice about cam swap nick promised.. wanted to know if ARE will honor his word.. NO REPLY

after only 1700miles.. car developes valvetrain knock.. arrrrgggghhh

Car is back into the shop to try and figure out what part of ARE's BS went bad.

**** them. I hope they rot in hell.. Ive spent more money fixing their head cam setup then it costed me to buy it in the first place.. and god forbid i have to have the heads pulled this time around, because i wont have any choice but to have them checkout and made sure they are in good working order and have the flow #'s brung up to par. Not to mention this BS cam that doesnt make any power.

No Nick D'Agastino is the reporter and the photographer! I just took his post from MM and added some info I had. Amazingly thats only about 2/3 of the fast cars that raced in N vs S. Impressive show!

Dave that sucks about your dealings with ARE. However its not the first time I've heard things like that about them, yet not all to one person!

Dave, your experience sounds a lot like the experience I had at Modern Musclecar. I guess some people want to make money on screwing customers.

I will say that dealing with Wade and Barry is a lot better than in the past. Wade bought ARE from Nick probably a little under a year ago. Since then many things have changed. The heads are on par with many others and they still build killer motors (yes I have one).

In my dealings recently with my 382SR I found a few things, the shop is swamped all the time. That's no secret. You just have to get in touch with them and e-mail is not the way to keep in touch. Just call the shop and talk to Suzie at a minimum and she can get Wade or Barry on the line and get you some answers quickly. They have gone to the end of the earth with me last week to get my motor done, putting my car in front of the Silver Z prior to the N vs S. For which part I feel a bit guilty because they could have spent more time on the Silver Z's tranny. Regardless, they went every bit the extra mile to help me out.
