will 5.3 L block bolt up to a ls1 t56

here is the deal I had almost talked myself out of doing a v8 swap just because of the price of the LS1.... a little out of my budget but then I ran into a deal where I can pick up a 5.3 for 500 bucks with 28000 miles on it everything looks the same on the blocks (5.3 and the ls1) I can get the wiring harness and computer from a 98 ls1 camaro for a couple hundred more and then I just have to save up for a trans i do believe that everything else mounts up to about the same place and I would need a ls1 intake and an fbody oil pan but if the manual trans is out so is the 5.3 I have had auto cars I just dont like them!!! I am pleading my case to you guys because I have been reading here for about a year and the one thing I have noticed here is that you will tell me like it is and save me a big hassle and that you guys have tried out just about everything on the 4th gen fbody besides I believe that the 5.3 is a 327 when was the last time you seen that written on the side of a camaro!!!
thanks for the help
Jack

pretty sure you need the 5.3 ecm, dont think the fuel and air ratio are the same! engines are not the same! and i forgot if it was an auto, you will need to change the flywheel!

The LS1 ECM should work, you'll just have to have it calibrated, because on the Painless wiring hot-rod harness', they all used 98 ECM's, as long as you get a dyno tune, you should be fine.
