I have to get and install my tranny from the darn tranny shop who said I'd have it last Friday.

I have to have my 6-point wolfe cage welded in on Thursday or Friday (depending on whether it gets here tomorrow or Thursday).

Still gotta pick up firejacket from ramchargers but that's easy.

ET Streets are here and mounted so they are good to go.

And I gotta install the 5-point harness and modify the stock seats as needed to make it work.

Hmmmmm, finish engine teardown, reaassemble it. put in a new converter, straighten unibody and install cage. I don't think I am gonna make it

Same boat as you with the tranny, PLUS LCAs, some N2o plumbing (bulkhead fitting and some final tie up), mount the line lock switch, and a wash and cleanup.

Looks like rollcage will not be here in time so I'll get to make one full blast run at the end and the rest I'll have to let off so I don't get the boot.

I'm contemplating going w/ a basically track only car and cruzin around Friday / Saturday nights. I can leave the radio and that's about it. Backseats weren't going to be put back in anyways (have had them out for over a year probably) and most of the other stuff is useless :-). We'll see how lazy I get when it comes time to putting that horrible 1 piece carpet back in.

Next race I'll be ready for sure :-). But I'll still have a blast this weekend whether I get the boot or not.

 

you sounds like I did a couple months ago.. then I got a job where I had to commute 100 miles a day in that "street strip car."

I had planned on working locally and just using my truck. but 100 miles a day gets expensive in a truck that gets 10mpg. So the race car made the trip for a week or two...then I had to call Q and get a new interior back in the car. I couldn't take it.

Still have no HVAC or airbags, but the interior is back in place. And I don't regret it!

 

well i have 4 more plugs to swap , and that is it! did all of the work last sunday!

 

Just a short list of things to do.

• Install the dash
• Install the radio
• Install the instrument cluster
• Rewire the tachometer and shift light
• Wire in the trans brake and two step
• Wire up the line lock
• Level off the tranny fluid
• Break in the rear gears (**** off the neighbors at the same time)
• Heat cycle the new brakes (actually the pads in the new brakes)
• Put miles on the new transmission
• Remove all of the error codes thrown by my significant option deletes this week with LS1Edit
• Change spark plugs
• Lash valves
• Adjust all the shocks
• Modify safety loop to prevent the bracket from touching the driveshaft
• Check for leaks (Brakes, Rear End and Transmission Fluid)
• Adjust the ride height up front
• Install the drag tires
• Install the seats
• Vacuum the carpet and seats
• Wash and wax the car
• Change the u-joints on the truck
• Put car on the trailer
• Drink some beer

I forgot, I need to put the tranny blanket on there as well.

 

Just got my trans back from the shop at midnight. So I still have that and related items (exhaust, starter, etc) a cleanup, and a battery tie down.
