Question Where to fill Nitrous bottles in Mid Michigan?

I'm thinking about slapping on nitrous this winter for a quick project, but are there any places around here (Saginaw) that fill bottles? If so, how much to fill a 10 lb or 15 lb bottle?

Thanks,
Dan

last I heard nitrous was about $4/lb. so $4 x 10 lb bottle = $40
the cost will start adding up quick. dont forget its a good idea to run high octane gas with the N20. just NOT LEADED GAS.

I called Valerio's, and it's not cheap! If I remember correctly, it was $4.95 per lb and a set $4 bottle charge per fill. Dang. $53+ just to fill a 10 lb bottle!

If I got nitrous, I'd be at a pretty small shot, 50-75 shot, and I always drive on 93 octane if that's high enough.

Don't forget about those times when you've got a leak in your system and you lose the whole bottle without realizing it.

Hardcore sells it I think. Might want to check with Rosebush in Bay City. Know any Dentists?
Now that I know how much $$$ it costs just to fill a 10 lb bottle, I will look elsewhere for mods. I don't like a mods that you have to keep sinking money into just to get it to work.

I'll just keep saving pennies for the some other mod, like heads, or cam, both, or FI.

Thanks Greg.

Yeah, Clio(Hardcore Motorsports) is a bit of a drive, about 45 minutes, but I've been meaning to get back over there to dyno my Z28 again. I'll ask them about it when I get the car dynoed.

No, but I'm in Midland practically every day. Is it a dynojet? That would be great.

terry rosebush motorsports, if you want drop me off your bottle and ill freeze it, hes like 4 blocks from me, terry doesnt have a hook up fee like velario's but he charges more per pound so it balences out to be the same price. im going there today to get 3 bottles filled. backwoods dyno is a mustang dyno and it give some goofy numbers, but i think they m,ay have it squared away now.

Backwoods racing are scam artists!!!

Backwoods racing out of Midland michigan are scam artists!!!!!
they sold/ installed the Wrong headers and Y-pipe on my car, I told them I didn't want them, those weren't the ones I wanted, he told me that they were better than qtp because he did research, (I wanted qtp headers and he sold me some new hooker headers that were suppose to be new and awesome), I still had to pay for them because it was special order, and it wasn't his problem the headers were going though spark plug wires even with kevlar boots on them,
My car burnt through 3 msd ignition wires with boots on in 1 night at the frankenmuth car show, then after that I called the owner, who works at dow corning, he said "fine - whatever".. rudley, but he would have them take back the headers And I had to pay shipping costs, and re-stocking fee for the junk headers back to there supplier and got no refund on the shipping of the junk headers to me, but they wouldn't take back the 325.00 Y-pipe that wont fit qtp headers. This is a nightmare for me and I don't want anyone to go through this, My saleman was Adam Helmer, he is a joke.
Oh and I remind you I bought over $4500.00 worth of parts and spent over 1000.00 in labor including everything I bought and this is How i was treated.

Thank you

yeah that sucks. what gave him the right to not buy you QTP headers when thats what you asked for? thats F'd up. Id call a lawyer. why not refund the shipping charges and restocking fee? you NEVER bought those headers, you bought the QTP's right? I know after the fact at some point you said ok, but never before they were on the car anyways right? and what hooker headers are they? supercomps? or the regular hookers? Im not sure which ones I got (Im guessing the regular ones cause of the 1 3/4 tubes) but Ive installed a couple sets otherwise and the wires dont come near the tubes? if your not sure either, how much did you pay? that would tell. I got my headers used from a traded in car at work, thats why I didnt ask the orig. owners.

and oh yeah, how did you come across this ancient thread?

Yea It was partial my fault I should Of told them No from the beginning, But I listened to a saleman. I came to adam helmer and backwoods racing with a list of parts and a h.p. goal i wanted to reach, On that list it included qtp headers. after hours of discussion with adam helmer of backwoods racing he kept telling me these new 1 7/8 hooker headers were putting down more h.p. than qtps on the dyno, so I said ok, my mistake. Well It was a HUGE MISTAKE beacause they didn't put more down on the dyno, and they were ugly emmision style which I TOLD HIM I DIDNT WANT, and the kicker of the story is that i couldn't drive my car anywhere withour a extra couple spark plug wires on me!!! I called them told them the problem, he said by these kevlar boots, So I did, and the problem was still there but now I burnt through $100.00 wires and $100.00 kevlar boots. None of which were refunded. I went through three sets of msd wired and the stockers before I had enough...
BACKWOODS RACING SUCKS!!!! SCAM ARTISTS!!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

yeah that does sound bad. post pics of where those headers come close to the wires and are burning them. I wonder if you could do the coil relocation and get rid of the problem? cause the stock wires are soo short, you have nowhere to reposition them. with the coil relocation, you can use wire looms to move the wires possibly to a better position. if he talked you into the hookers before putting them on, much as that sucks but thats not crooked. but if you said buy qtp's and he bought hookers, thats a diff. story. but he should have known better about the hookers before recomending them to you.
