Where is the closest Nitrous refilling station to Lansing?

H&H Auto in Grand Ledge is the closest place for getting nitrous refills in Lansing it seems. However they want the bottle for four hours ahead of time in order to freeze it. I dont want to waste four hours and a second trip, since Gr. Ledge is 25 miles away (50 miles RT).

Since this means 100 miles of driving, I would like to know where are some other places that I can go which DONT require a manditory freeze of the bottle.

Yep. I might just do that: If I stop by Quality Dairy on the way there, I can buy a few bricks of dry ice and drop them into an ice chest with the bottle. That ought to do it.

Thanks for the tip!

That nitrous stuff is bad for your motor anyway. better not risk it.

Too late DJ! I've gotten most everything into the car already except the button and the wires! I'm going to be taking it easy with just a teeny little 75 HP shot, just to see what happens.

p.s. Doug, are you going to bring that nitrous refilling equipment of yours to M12? There's some folks posting on the forum that seem to want refills at the track.

sorry, Ill be lucky to get around to filling my own bottles. I just use transfer lines and to make it work good you need to freeze the small bottle. with a pump you dont need to freeze but I dont have a pump of my own to bring. hopefully the weather will be nice .

It looks as if I need to transfer the 11 pounds of nitrous from this bottle because I don't have the correct pressure relief valve on the bottle. There's no way to hook up a blowdown tube. Thus, no nitrous for M12 for me. It'll have to wait until next year, I'm out of time.

Wink Button? What an Amateuer!

Dammit Dan, hook it to an rpm on/off switch and BE CONSISTANT! I hate you wannabe bracket racers.
(Jeez, why did I break out first round?)

Hi Kev,

My system is better than that: It's activated by the fuel injection system, based on RPM, throttle, and time-delay. The button that I need to install is simply for the purge. There's also a fuel pressure transducer that'll hook into the ECM for datalogging fuel pressure, and there's a bottle heater circuit for regulating nitrous pressure. By next year there will probably also be a nitrous transducer for actually datalogging nitrous pressure. Everything's there for a second stage activation too, if I desire to get really stupid with the spray. I'll be sure to post pictures when it's done. I'm probably going to stop for now and concentrate on getting the car dragrace-ready. It ought to still do a bunch of 12's though: I need the launch practice anyway.

Do you have the day off on Saturday? If so, come on up for the day. I'm sure you'd be welcome!

Here's the progress so far... Time to quit and work on some other stuff so that we can at least have some fun at M12! If anything, it's at least pretty.

Dan, are you color blind? heh

Doug
PS, clamp some rubber hose onto the blow off fitting and route it out of the trunk. there isnt any spec on what it should be made of and when its used up you can get the regular AN blow down fitting if it makes you feel better.

Yeah, it's the Ketchup & Mustard color scheme. It's getting a bit out of control, I know.

As for the heater hose idea, it's pragmatic & might work as a temporary measure. Unfortunately I am severly out of time between now and Saturday morning.
It's hard to tell it it'll be done or not at this point. I'm going to run the car with or without, and have fun no matter which way it goes.

yes I can understand you not getting it done, after all it involves tightening one hose clamp and cutting a piece of hose to length.. 2 days may not be enough heh

Shoulda figured an engineer like you would overkill the whole N2O experience. Looks great though! I'll meet you there and we can discuss the who's and how's of your system.
The colors would go great with my striped T/A, however.

Did you go with an LT1 or just use an LT1 intake or some such device? Glad you got rid of the restrictive TPI intake,
