Question What are these connectors/wires?

I was looking a little closer at my wiring on my passenger side on the firewall side and I noticed there were 2 connectors that weren't connected to anything. one had a black wire going to it and the other had a orange wire going to it. What are these suppose to connect to and could this be effecting this recent problem I am having with my car? Thank you very much. I will try to get a picture of it if that isn't a good enough description.

Here is the recent problem I have had.

Most cars will have a extra connector or two on the firewall. Can't say for sure if anything goes there or not. Post a pic and maybe we can check it against another car.
