What I did with my fall...

Here's where all my car moddin' money went...check these out in order:

Have done pretty much everything myself too, other than the require extra hands for lifting and such. The house is completely rewired top and bottom, has in-wall cat5, coax, and phone run throughout as well. I upgraded the service to 200amp, replumbed and reworked the heating system as well as am in the process of adding a secondary furnace.
The left side of the house when viewed from the front it where you will all be gathering for our house warming party!! It's an 18x24 rec room with cathedral ceilings, surround sound TV, a fireplace, dart board, pool table (hopefully) etc
What you don't see is out behind the house...the beginnings of a 30x40 garage
We took the house from a whopping 930 sq ft and more than doubled it to 1980 sq ft! The siding and soffit/facia are ordered and on their way, so at least it will look done from the outside.

Oh, and pay no attention to the crooked 2x4 under the front porch, those were temporary, there's actual posts under there no, evenly spaced and straight

Now I just need to get another job so I can get back to work on it so the inside will look finished too. Anyone want to come hang drywall? LOL

For reference, we started this in October and pretty much worked on it nights and weekends to the point you see in the pictures. There is a lot of work inside that I haven't shown you yet. I'll wait and see if anyone wants to hear/see anymore about the project first

Dude, that rocks! Were there any structural issues you had to address in order to add a second floor?

Nothing unexpected, other that I found out you can't cantilever BCI joists as far as regular dimensional lumber. So I ended up having to run a doubled LVL and some posts out back. The front I just hangered to the triple beam on the outside edge of the front porch.

Nova, you should remember this project starting...this was around the time we were planning to have a final party for the season, and we almost had it here. I had to end up killing the idea because of all the construction going on had things piled everywhere and the house unusable for entrtaining
