Talking update on the 89 gta engine build up

Got my new E pump (moroso electric water pump) in the mail and tested it (it works!) and mounted it BlingBling! So Im finished the porting of the heads today (very cool) and am ready to start the polishing part sunday (will this ever end?). I am still going back and forth with this guy on Ebay that I bought the engine from about some parts he owes me. He says he is on it and not to worry but its been forever and no parts. I called him today and he came up with a new story.

So left to do mechanical wise is the new valves and grinding the valve seats, new rings and bearings then just bolt it together and put in, then there is those new weld in frame connectors and some new T top seals, and, and, and..... AAaaannnyway I came up with a color scheme for the engine! There is this guy I know who works for ppg paints and he is getting me this new paint that you spray over aluminum and it makes it look like anodized aluminum (good up to 220 degrees). So Im going to paint the block with yellow block paint, and the valve covers, intake and water pump (very cool looking) will be anodized red. The Headers will be silver.

Oh did I mention it will be fast? Oh yes......it will. well for me anyway, Im thinking Ill finally be doing 13's instead of my lackluster 14.5-8's

I hope the guy from Ebay isn't from Florida... another member of this board got scammed on an engine, was supposed to come with all kinds of good parts, but he ended up with a pile of junk parts instead.

The guy and company he dealt with were in FL and were both ficticious. I hope for your sake that theres no coincidence here...

Unhappy didnt get totally screwed

Well the guy was in michigan. I picked the thing up so I know where he works. The engine was ok but he pressure washed it to clean it without fully capping off the intake........So the intake ports and valved looked like a science project. The top of some of the cylinder walls also had some rust on em. Other than that the rest of it looked great! SO I wd40'd everthing. I have the heads looking pretty respectable now after the port job and the pistons now move pretty freely. the whole lower part of the motor looks good. I told the guy I wanted new valves, rings (so I could ream the cylinders) and rod bearings (same). He said Ok. So now I wait.
