Unhappy Tranny Needs Rebuilt. Can Anybody Help?

My tranny has been on it's way out for a couple of months now, and I was planning on rebuilding it. But due to some unexpected doctors bills and tickets, I've been set back and unfortunately the tranny can't wait until I have the kind of money everyone wants. My car is my daily driver. So I really need to get it fixed. I've gotten a couple of estimates and they are right around 800-1000 dollars and I know that 75% of the cost is just for labor. So my question is, does anybody know of someone that can do it for any cheaper labor wise? Or can one of you guys help me out. I would buy all of the parts. I'm not asking for someone to do it for free by any means. I just know that the tranny is getting worse even under normal driving conditions and I don't have that kind of money at the time. If anybody can help me out, then please let me know.

BTW, I'm not looking for somone that does a half *** job either. I'd rather let the car sit until I can afford someone reputable to do it. Oh, I'd also like to add a shift kit while it's down.

Thanks.

There is a guy down here in Lincoln Park, MI that does a great job - you wont need a shift kit when he is done.

$550 with a 6 month warranty for a 700R4 or 2004R - his gaurantee is that it will hold up to 550HP.

Send me an email if you want the contact info.
