Track times on new motor...

Finally made it to the track on saturday to see if my hard work payed off or not.
I ll start with my setup which is a 346 with pro billet rods and diamond pistons and rings gapped for the bottle, stock 241 heads with stock size manely valves, 02 LS6 cam, LS6 intake, ASP pulley, FTRA and 1.85 rockers. Everything else is unchanged from last year.
I ran 1 run with autotap which showed im getting knock the whole run with the most being 4 but the knock lessens at higher rpms none at idle. Lifters maybe??? The whole run i had around 20 degrees of timing and managed to pull of a best of 12.10@112 pretty consistantly with about 800 miles on the motor.
Overall im not too disapointed with the numbers for what ive got done but there is alot of room for improvement. I still have the stock tuning and the car was shifting at 6300-6400. I dont want to spray it untill i figure out my knock so it might be all motor for me at M8.

When tuned & set up for nitrous, you are going to be down about 30 HP, esp with the timing down, not to mention the rings being gapped wider.

Try to empty the fuel tank, and fill with high octane, do some more ATAP runs & see if that eliminates the KR. No telling what that could be, lifters, rockers, etc.

Should shine on the juice. I would get it to a shop & get a wideband tune on it. Alot safer starting out in that environment, & then tuning yourself from there, at the track. I reccomend Detroit Speedworks.

That car wont really shine until it gets the juice!!

Maybe I'll see ya at M8.

Im gonna try the high octane and see what that does and im gonna try and put the stock rockers back on if that dont work. Id love to get it tuned but im about outta cash this year. I also noticed my Ltrims were at +20 on both sides the whole run also my o2,s were at 920-930.
I was pulling the drivers side tire so on the juice it should hang them pretty good. Low to mid 10's shouldnt be a problem on the juice if my rear can survive. Sucks getting a late start in the year.
