anyone have a nice truck or suv that can handle roughly 6,000 lbs for sale or know of any for sale???
better yet, anyone have a preference as to what works better than another......i've had cars all my life and don't really know where to start so i would appreciate some suggestions as to what is good or bad.

AT least 3/4 ton.
Long wheelbase.
As big an engine as you can afford, gas mileage wise.
Tow package with all the coolers.
Extended cabs are nice for storage!
A lot of people are liking the new 2500HD with the 6.0.

How does a Tahoe or Suburban compare to the Silverado's as far as towing is concerned?
I was kind of looking at the new Trailblazer XL, you can get them with the 5.3L V8 and they can tow 7,000lbs.

chris, i had no idea.........was this a while ago; that's pretty much what i've been looking for.
although i did find an escalade with 50,000 mi 20" rims and 5 tv's for 18,000.
not that i need something like that anyway.
can full size suv's like suburbans, tahoe, navigator, expedition, escalade, etc. pull just as well as a truck?
just curious, there all around the same price ranges.

Trailblazer XL with the 5.3 sounds very interesting. The only question I would have is wheelbase, but... I would think hauling a car would be no problem for them! Now the Suburban and Tahoe, piece of cake. That V8 Trailblazer still intrigues me though!
It's supposed to be an all aluminum 5.3, I hear??!!
By the way... looking for a used 4x4 now is kinda like looking for a convertible in June... YOU GONNA PAY... PRIME TIME! I looked up my '02 Silverado Z71 on Kelly Blue Book, private party sale, it's worth more than I paid for it!!
Good Luck!!!!

yeah, i really don't plan to buy one until the season's over unless someone is in need to get rid of one for the right price. i would like to know what to look for though so i can start reading up and have a good base of knowledge when i do go to make my purchase.
There is no way in hell a trailblazer can haul what you are talking about hauling. For one the hitch on them are only rated at 5000 pounds and another thing is the suspention, there is no way it could handle that kind of weight. Just my opinion though
Jeff,
You should have asked me a couple of months ago, i just sold my '99 GMC Yukon Denali, it had the tow package and everything.
if your looking to tow a big enclosed trailer w/ car, you would be best off with a 2500 series GM or Dodge, or a F250 or bigger Ford, a 1500 or F150 will pull a car trailer but your pretty close to the limit..
