Smile Toronto / GTA guys.....1/8th mile "heads up" racing on Sunday!

PACER is going to be holding a day of 1/8th mile drag racing at Mosport International again this Sunday (they held the same event back on July 27th).

Registration is from 8am - 10am, and racing is from 10am - 5pm. It's $20 to register car + driver (only $15 for "show & shine" and $10 for spectators).

There are a few F-bodies going that I know of, and if it's at all as busy as the last time, it should be a fun day!

Hope to see some of you out there.

(BTW: there's a link on the PACER website above).

Yes, BUT if you check out the PACER site (Police And Community Educating Racers) they've got pics of the Cops out on the track racing their cars! While I wasn't there the last time, I heard that they were being sort of lenient about the "tech".........all cars are supposed to be street legal, but instead of giving people a hard time (or setting up a spot check on the road like what happened near Cayuga a few months back ) they were just recommending certain "repairs" or "modifications" that could be done to correct the problems. Durham Regional Police said that they want to get street racers OFF the streets, so they weren't going to do anything to jeopardize having people going to the track to do the "right" thing and not race on the streets.

Also, if there is enough turn out, hopefully they will see the demand and pull the funds together to build a full 1/4 mile, IHRA/NHRA quality track (it's already YEARS overdue ).
