Took The New Car To Milan, Major Leak? Please Help
Well, I took the new car to Milan tonight. Over all I was okay with the times considering the fact it only has a 2800 converter and the Eagle F1 tires on it. The car ran a best of 12.39 at 110. It was funny that every run I did from a 12.8 all the way to the 12.39 was at 110mph.
Well, on the last time I went to the line they asked me to back out because I had coolant dripping. I drove it home and the car went from 210 to 240 and back to 210, several times. I parked the car in the garage and let it cool down. I went back out an hour later and see I have coolant running out. I looked under the car and can't tell where it is coming from. It is dripping down and traveling along the front edge of the front skid plate. It is coming down fairly quickly, not a steady stream but dripping quickly.
Any Ideas?
Man, what a bummer way to end the first track night.
Thanks,
Bill

Best way to find a leak is to pressure test it.Try not to run it till you can get it done as not to cause any damage. I have a tester if i can be of help. Steven

yeah bill bring it out and steven or I can pressure test it. shouldnt be toohard to find that way if its leaking like you said. did you look at the rad. fins? how about around all the hoses? it could be running out of the pump also and running down the lower hose onto the rad. support. bummer, but its gotta be fixed for sure. and congrats on the times. pretty good for the first time out on F1's to boot. how were the sixty's? Im gonna gues they were in the 1.8's? just a guess.

With it dripping off the skidplate (k-member?), I would guess it's the pump. The previous owner took mine in because the pump leaked with less than 20K on the clock. G/L in finding the source of your troubles.

What do you mean by "front skid plate'? Are you talking the lower radiator support or the K-member?
I bet that car has more in it! You may want to consider a dyno tune & some sticky tires. A 3.73 gear wouldn't be a bad choice either. You did remember to turn the traction control off, right?
