Tire input/help needed

Ok, I had a blowout on 696 this morning.

I know I didn't hit anything cause the car felt a little funny when I left this morning. I didn't think too much of it, but in hindsight it could have been a slipped belt.

The tire is a BFG g force t/a KDWS (275/40ZR17)

I bring the car back to Belle tire to have the tire replaced, and I'm charged 175.xx for the replacement. Now the tires have exactally 11245 miles on them. (purchased July 30, 02)

The guy at the counter explains to me that anything 45 series or lower has no warranty, and the invoice says that as well. However, my original invoice (which I presented to him) states:

Freedom plan warranty info:
Warranty months: 48 Warranty milage: 50000 vehicle milage: 61627

Am I getting screwed here or what?

I'd ask to speak with the manager. You could say that you were told the tire had a warranty...whether that's the truth or not, I don't know. But, I do know for sure there's no way in hell you're gonna get 50K miles out of them tires.

I'm pretty sure the tire warranty isn't free. If you didn't pay for it you don't have one.
