Well Friday night started off rainy and overcast. The track was supposed to open up at 6:30, but the weather just wouldn't comply. At 8:15 I'd had enough waiting around and tried to leave... they weren't giving out rain tickets yet though. I suppose that's a good thing in the end, as we got in a crap load of runs.

I'm pretty proud of my all stock no mods car... 13.52 for her first run ever. Unfortunately I didn't get it any lower than that. By the end I was running 13.5x consistently.

I've learned that I absolutely suck at burnouts. That first run they didn't put any water down so I didn't have to worry about spinning it off the tires. I also tried launching at higher 2000RPMs once, and the results were slower... 12.6x I think. Anyways, it was a lot of fun and hopefully we'll get together again sometime and head out to Martin. There were only 4 of us running on Friday and I know more of you are just itching to go.

I can't wait to see the videos!

We were at "US 131 Raceway Park." Most people around here just call it Martin.

I need to know who wants copies of the video, and what runs you want on your copy (just yours, all f-bodies, or all cars). Do we want to get together sometime to watch the video?

I have to look when I get home... I think it was 104 or maybe it was 102.

I'm not sure what type of camera you were using so I'm not sure how to answer that question. Is it a standard VHS recording so if I got you a tape you could copy it for me? I'm selfish, so I want as much as I can get... or at least what you got of my car!

Prolly 104mph..

MPH is the very good indication of what your car can run, as well as how much power it makes..

I broke 100+ 7 out of 8 runs. Best time I think was 13.6. I have to get the heal-Toe crap down. But that was my 1st time at a track. i wanted to run becca, but it didn't work out right. I'll get her next time!!

I've race US 131 a few times and took home some of their money too. It's really not much further for me than Milan. Only 2 things stop me from going:

1) Friday night... I am a **** poor nite racer!
2) The 1/2 - 1 mile dirt part of the road to get in! Have they by chance, paved that section yet (PLEASE)?

Went to quite a few 'Popular HotRodding Nationals' there, as a spectater, when NHRA held the event there! Two years in a row we seen Top/Fuelers go all the way over in MONSTER WHEELSTANDS.

Grumpy Jenkins, DynoDon Nicolson, Gapp&Rousch, Motown Missle, Sox&Martin, Butch Leal the California Flash... etc...! The golden age of Pro/Stock... it's infancy! Hemi's Cuda's - Challengers - Belvederes against SB Vegas - Monzas vs. BB Camaros vs. SB Pintos - BB Mavericks. Danm it was GREAT!
Pro stockers did GIANT wheelstands then! Ahhhh, Ya shoulda been there!!

Hink, they've come along way since you were there last, man

Yes, the in road is paved...the entrance is MUCH closer to the main road. Pits are nice and grassy. Facility is pretty top notch. Torco on site, scale, etc.

Becca, good times girl.
Next time on the track take note of where the two topend timing markers/lights. The first one gives you your et reading, the second one and final one on the track is the MPH light. Be sure to stay on the go~go till your past that marker. like dave said you could be lifting off the go~go speedracer to soon

out of curiosity and confusion...

Why should she be running 104 with 13.5 times?
I'm running 104 with 13.2 traps

Is it because she has 3.23 gears (presumably) and I hav 3.73?

In my other 94Z from a couple years ago I ran 12.8 at 108 and that seems to be pretty common. Is there only 4mph difference between 12.8 and 13.5?

I'm not trying to take anything away from her, I'm just generally trying to figure out why my ETs are so much lower if my MPH would indicate a mid 13...
