Is it time?

>55K on the motor. Should I go ahead and replace/rebuild the Opti while the motor is down for heads/cam install? If I "rebuild" who sells the parts?

I have heard of those opties going with 28k on the engine, and I have heard of them lasting 200,000. You can never be sure. I say leave well enough alone, its not hard to replace the opti.

I agree, leave it alone until it goes. If it were a $5 part or like spark plugs or something I would say go ahead but optis aren't cheap, just check and make sure your water pump is good and nothing is leaking and leave it alone for now. You'd hate to replace it now and have the replacement go on you in another 30k when your original might last you until 150k.
