Did he drop the MPH too? WOT shifting is determined by MPH and RPM. You can change RPM all day long. But if you never change the MPH too, it'll constantly hit the limiter. Stock MPH for the 2>3 shift is 76 MPH. When I read your tune, it was still set for 76 MPH. Problem is, you're at 6400 RPMs at 76 MPH. That means the computer has less than 1/10th of a second to command a shift into the next gear. You need to have that number changed to something like 64 MPH (like I set it in the tune I sent you). Then, your car will shift right. The clutch packs aren't gone with the little mileage you have on that car...

Anyways, it's too bad about the weather today. I was looking forward to going.

He put mine down to 5800 rpm and 71 mph. Now its back up to 6600 rpm and 79 mph. I was loosing too much power shifting 800 rpm sooner.

You can get it to shift at whatever RPM you want. The point is, you need to drop either the MPH or RPM down so that the trigger the PCM uses is one or the other (MPH or RPM). If you drop MPH to 60 and set RPM at 6200, it'll probably shift by 6400. If it shifts before 6400, up the rpm to 6300 and see where it shifts. But, you have to move the MPH out of the way so it's not holding you back like it is in Bill's case.

Mine too......... It is dead on. When mine was tuned he took the shift points all the way down to 4,000 rpms on the 2-3 shift and it still bounced off the limiter.

I talked to some people that say the 2-3 clutch packs are one of the first things to go in the stock trans.

I'll see how it goes.

Yes, he dropped both the MPH and the RPM.... That is how he got my 1-2 shifts dialed in. I was hitting the rev limiter on that too and now it is great.

The guy that did my tune had tuned for Lingenfelter for a long time. He expalined to me about the difference in Corvettes and F-Body tunes. In the Corvettes all you have to do is plug in the gear change and the tables are all populated. On the F-Bodys you need to set MPH and RPM and get it to work.

I watched him do another car 98 A4, 3800 converter and no problems. That car put down 450RWHP & 440RWTQ on the Mustang Dyno. I have thrown a code on the clutch packs before.

Thanks,

Bill

Where did you get your car tuned at Bill? I had mine done at Vector.

I got a good package deal on my 9" and a tune. It was at Exotic Performance Plus in Columbia City, IN. They are just west just west of FT. Wayne.

Brent Malone who used to be Lingenfelter's chief tuner and crew chief did the tune.

Thanks.

I've bought a few things (Procharger) from them. Bob is a great sales person.
His cars put down some good numbers.
