Local Sunoco sales rep is Chris Danish
313-317-4286
313-795-2158 pager
313-590-3430 office

It's sold in 55 gallon drums, but if a local station has it he should know.

Thx for the info people. But is the 104 unleaded too much for a pretty much stock LS1 motor? I really just wanted to try the 100 since I have basically a stock eng.

100 octane might even be overkill for a stock motor..i could be wrong but from my experience unless you have some major work done you shouldnt need more than premium

Might be good to try if you are spraying. A little more insurance against detonation when your on the juice. But I dont think you would need it for street applications. Just a waste of money in my opinion unless you really need it, which it sounds like you dont.

Try some Torco Accelerator. It's not your average octane "booster" This stuff changes 93 octane to 104 if you mix it according to the directions. $12 a can though!

Cool

I too use the TORCO additive and I mix mine for 100 octane. This stuff doesn't promise
'POINTS' it tells you on the can, how much to use to reach a certain octane rating.

By the way... the can is 32oz. and if you mix for smaller octane levels a couple of cans can last a race car all year.

I been tellin' you guyz about Torco additive for YEARS! Gonna listen NOW??

How so? I would imagine 104 might, but 100 unleaded oct in an LS1, I was thinking, could help with the time to time detonation problems. I use 93 and 94 all the time and still get detonation sometimes. What do you think?

It really depends on how much your using. I've used 104 octane gas before in my stock LT1, but only a few gallons. And only before racing

I think what he's saying is that you don't want to run more octane than what you really need. Higher octane has a lower flash point and is harder to ignite. You want to run just enough to keep your motor from spark knocking. Checkout this webiste (www.installuniversity.com) they've got a really good article on chasing down knock retard (and determining whether it's real or false!)

Mark is correct, running more octane then necessary WILL actually HURT performance.

Oh yea... ummm smaller airports... they happen to have 100 octane unleaded at approx $2.25/gal. They wont put it in your car, but they will put it in a container for you. They just make you sign an affadavid that you wont put it in a car. And i know you have an airplane sitting in your garage *cough* *cough* Just a helpful FYI
