subframe connectors

subframe connectors

what happens when you don't preload the suppension. if you use a frame hoist there is no weight on the wheels. thanks

The car was designed to perform with the suspension loaded. When you lift a car, you redistribute the weight from the wheels to the subframe. This will alter the car's form slightly due to natural flex. If you weld up the frames while in this position, you're locking in that flex and will put additional/abnormal strees on the car when the weight is transfered back to the wheels. To make a long story short, there's a right way and a wrong way to do it. When the suspension isn't loaded...that's the wrong way.
