The Snow is HERE!!!
Well, as I sit here writing the big bad snow storm has finnally arrived. Supposed to get up to 10" of the stuff, so the q is: will I be the only one taking advantage of the soon to be deserted roads? Can't wait to see if the blizzacks are up to the task
.
Speaking of driving the TA in the white stuff, anyone need a winter car yet? I can't believe that noone here needs a good winter car.

That link is a much better radar system then the weather channel. Jason, it was showing a huge hole around you all all north of detroit but it is starting to close up now.

I already have a couple inches on the ground! I am getting ready to build a snow jump with my tractor and go offroading. Unless a bus load of swimsuit models gets stuck in front of my house, then its just good manners to care for some stranded guests.
I am going to give another attempt at my new sport: truck boarding. You need a sled or snowboard and a 4X4, horse, or snowmobile. We take all the snow from an empty field and plow up a huge ramp then you just hang on to a rope attached to a 4X4 and get pulled to the ramp on a sled or snowboard and simply let go of the rope at the top of the mound, the person who makes it the furthest wins, it gets more complicated with multiple hills (safety first though the landing must be filled with soft snow). Even us big kids can have fun in the snow. if we get 10 inches I will be all set but looking at the weather this minute we probably won't get enough snow! Why does the weatherman change the forecast every 30 seconds! I think I should be a weatherman, hmmmmm look outside its snowing give a fake prediction and if it stops snowing or the barometric pressure changes just change your forecast.

Yep, been snowing here since between 12 and 1 today and it has well covered the grass. Still coming down too.
It's supposed to snow off and on here all week.
This is my brother's fault since he needs to get his tires rotated.
If the snow stays, we should be good for Echo Valley later this month!
Now, if only the snowmobile worked!

Just got back from a full (action packed!) hour on the roads. There's about 1"~2" worth on the roads here, all the little 2 laners are plowed/salted but 8 mile, 10 mile and grand river as well as some random N/S roads are not touched. After finding out that blizzacks are indeed better in the snow than Kumho ecstas in acceleration, braking and cornering, i decided it would be a good idea to go to the local high school parking lot and test my spin recovery skills.
It turns out that the TA is very stable and predictable once the rear end finally does decide to step out. Also very predictable was the fact that after only doing 2 spins (one to the right, and 1 + countersteer to the left), I decide to leave just as one Novi's finest decides to stop by
. The short story is that he let me go with a warning. Apparently finding the limits of your car in a safe, controlled environment is less socially accepable (reckless driving) than finding out the hard way.

ahhh finally. I got back tonight at midnight driving from Flint down to New Baltimore. I-75 was okay with about an inch or so on the roads, M59 was a bit of a mess with some spun out cars and slow pokes in the way along with more snow on the road than on 75. I didnt have any problems in 2wd the entire way to M59/Van Dyke, where I finally caught a light and slapped it into 4wd just for added safety. The rest of the ride was pretty decent. I94 was BEAUTIFULLY cleared.
