Silver State Classic

Anybody thinking about going, or having run it before? I think I might give it a try, sounds like it should be fun. There is an event in the spring (May I think).

I wanted to do it back when I had my C4 Vette.... They transport company wanted $1000 each way to send the car out there so I passed on it. Looks like a blast....

That looks sweet, it would be a long drive out there but a trip to Vegas would be nice. The unlimited speed division looks cool but requires too much stuff like race slicks that I couldn't take with me on the way out there unless I trailor my car. The Grand Sport class looks sweet, to go in the high Grand Sport division all you have to do is get up to 145mph within the 1 mile drag. If I had the time and the $475 it takes to race I would definately do it. 1850 miles one way, 27 hour drive, I wish there was more of a entisement, they should give prize money to the winner of each class or something so that I could atleast try to make up the 92 gallons of gas it would take me to drive out there.
I am looking forward to driving my C4 down to Tennessee sometime in late Feb/early March, the roads down there are smooth, long, and empty.

Rudy, let us know if you go out there, that would be one long caravan if you got some people to go with you.

I'm trying to plan work to get the time off, so I can trailer my car out there. Hoping to make a "work"trip out of it, so I can use a company truck to drag my car out. It is a long drive. But been thinking about it since I first heard about it in the early ninties. I will let you guys know if it works out for me or not.

Rudy, if you want to talk to some other F body owners who have done it, try http://www.frrax.com . There are a couple of people on that board like Nemesis and NataSS who have done it and could give you some advice I'm sure.
