shipping a car

Who here has bought a car and had it shipped?

I was wondering what I could look at as far as price.. or would it be cheaper to drive down there with a buddie and drive it home?

The car is in.

It would be cheaper to FLY down and drive it home. Shipping is not cheap. TA jack does car shipping though, he may be able to hook you up.

I found a place Insured with a open carrier, door to door for 550.. Figure id spend 200 there and back on the car thats getting me there, and 100 back in the ls1. 100 dollars for a room in MO, then Ill need money to eat and so on.

Or I could sit home in the warmth and wait for it to get here. and then not put a mile on the car

I shipped my new car from TX to Ann Arbor for $850. It took about a week to get here. T&T Transport was the company I used.

By the way, what did you buy?

I had them deliverd for $550-$750, I would choose that over flying, then driving back, alot less hassle and less chance of damage, at least the hauling company will insure it for you on their trip.

Re: shipping a car

I'm a little different I guess. If I Can afford the time, I LIKE to drive. when I look at cars that are a ways away like that, I look at it as an oppurtunity to get out ans see some new places and enjoy the new car. I almost bought a c5 out of florida a year or two agao...and I fully intended on flying out and driving back with it...driving across country in a targa top vette enjoying the sunshine sounded like a great time to me
