salvage title 96 Formula 6-speed for sale
Well to make a long story short I bought this car in May of 05 with a clean title. In September of 05 state farm insurance and the michigan attorney general sent me a letter saying that state farm insurance screwed up and never gave turned in the paper work to make it a salvage title. It was a total loss sometime in its life, just wasn't turned into the sec of state to get retitle as junk. Well they only want to give me 1600 for their mistake. I have been fighting with everyone about this car and I just want to see it gone. Sucks when you buy something and then big business finds a way to screw you. State Farm should be buying this car back from me. But no the state of michigan is only making them pay a junk amount. Mine isn't the only one they screwed up on. They screwed up on like 700,000 vehicles across the u.s. There is a lawyer that wants to start a class action suit but he wants 1/3 of the money if we win, i don't think so. When I bought it I even got a carfax that said it had never been in a major accident and had a clean title buy back garauntee. It wasn't car faxes fault though due to state farm not doing their job.
It is a red 96 Formula 6-speed hard top. No power windows, locks or anything. It has 43,000 miles. The motor has something going on with it. It sounds great idling and at low Rpm, but when it hits around 2000 RPM it starts to make some racket. The body is in awesome shape. The only thing wrong with the exterior is the front nose. It has a mark where somewhere backed into it at Muffler Man, easy fix though. Besides the nose this car looks like it could be put in a show. Has new goodyear tires on it.
It has a few mods also.
4.5 Powerdyne supercharger with fmu, new 5 thousand miles ago.
flowmaster exhaust with straight pipes coming out the back
bmr stb
bmr subframe connectors.
3900 or best. I just can't take anymore of a loss on this car than I already have.
This car would be great for someone who knows about building motors, that person is not me. It would also be a car someone could part out and make good money, especially with the 6-speed . If it doesn't sell I guess I will have to part it out myself.
The salvage title says it had the hood, right fender, right door and frame damage. Before the motor starting acting up it ran perfect and drove perfect. I have had 3 4th gens and it felt exactly like the others. My dad works at a pontiac dealer and he couldn't tell it had been in a wreck.
Car is in Clio, just north of Flint. If you want to see the car and hear it run you are more than welcome to come check it out. Car is clean and sitting under a cover in my garage.

Brandon, an underscore it is in my e-mail address, and yes, I did receive your photos! (Just for your further info, an e-mail addy can never contain a blank space).
Now, what about that engine problem on this car? Does it sound like a "deep" motor knock, (like a rod knock or spun rod/crank bearing?). You said that before this problem the car ran just fine, did this "problem" arise just after maybe doing something "hard" on the car. Ever do the ole 1-2-1 shift on this blown six speed Formula??? Also what rear gear ratio you running in this car???
Thanks for the pictures and info to date.

Re: salvage title 96 Formula 6-speed for sale
I am not exactly sure what happened to the motor. It went into my uncle's shop for an exhaust leak and when I picked it had the knicked up front end and a rough sounding motor. What is usually the problem when someone does the ole 1-2-1 shift? I have never had a car with motor probs so I really don't know the extent of the damage. It makes quite a bit of racket under load(could be a rod for all I know). You can also feel it through the shifter.
The car has a 3.42 rear in it.
