Unhappy rolled the jeep last night

like the title says rolled my winter vehicle last night. its technically my parents but no one uses it but me. 91 cherokee, we put a 6 foot plow on it last winter to plow with. They kept it around just for the heck of it and so i had something to drive in the winter. very cool of them. but got rolled last night. I was going around this funny curved section where it curves one way, then the other and back to the other way again within 50 yards or so. i wasnt going very fast actually, i didnt look at my speedo and the cop didnt think i was either. it had just started to rain and was real slippery, i turned, the tires turned, the jeep went straight once it hit the gravel / grass it turned like a bat outta hell. i brought it back around once but it had swung the back end too fast the first time. when it came back around it hit one of those mounds of dirt and grass that are about a foot tall with the front drivers side tires and it did a 180 and rolled a few times.

dont know whats going to happen now. parents keep sayin dont worry its fine, no one got hurt. but i need something to drive in the winter, i screwed up a vechicle that wasnt really mine, somethin we put some money, good amount, into not too long ago. i screwed up though, i fell i should fix it. if it means selling my car and reimbursing them, so be it. i dont have the money to buy a new vehicle for the winter right now and reimburse them. so i dont know whats going to happen with the WS6. they said not to worry and jump to that, i wont need to, but thats how i am i if i screw somethin up they shouldnt have to pay for it. not looking for any flaming, i said i screwed up, cant blame the roads or the jeep, i was the one in control. just seeing what ya'll have to say or think about it. guess my project jeep isnt going to happen now either.

Been there, rolled that.

I'm glad to hear no one is hurt. Like your parents said, take it easy for a bit and see how things work out with the insurance company. They can surprise you some times and make things right for the Jeep's replacement.

probem is, it only had PLPD on it. it was in a wreck a few years ago and fixed and we were going to sell it but never did. decided to just put plpd on it because it was a 91 and paid off, wasnt really worth paying all that money for a vehicle that was wrecked already,

thanks might have to check it out. our shop we go to, know him real well, is checking it out tomorrow. anytime anything happens our vehicles get sent there. it needs a new roof and back hatch for sure. only window that broke was the one my head hit. windshield cracked though. frame is fine, suspension and everything looks good too. guess i'll see what he says, kinda have a good amount of money into it, and time. would like to save it if i can. put a plow on it last year, completely detachable. fabbed up some KC lights on the front bumper, 3 inch lift, 31's. hopefully it'll all work out and i can just take a good hit to the ol pocket book instead of trying to strip everything off and start over again. thanks though, might check that car out anyways

2 guys in my graduating class rolled them damn things without any lift or larger tires. Those things are dangerous.

I do wanna agree with TA jack though, those things are prone to rolling in the first place then you guys had it lifted. Oh well, ya live ya learn not to drive those fake jeeps. ;D

Where did you roll it? It almost sounds like a portion of Leonard right there before Tallmadge that I take the corners in the Camaro at 60 mph.

yea the lift and tires didnt help much but hey, i think they do have some good sides for them. when they are right side up

it was up in coopersville where it happened. just past the 68th and randall corner. its a 4 way stop, gas station and mcdonalds and all those around it. If you go west it will go striahg tand you will merge onto westbound 96, or you can curve to the right onto another road. i tried to curve to the right but we didnt curve too much. Kind of a crappy, actually really crappy place, guy i talked to did the exact same thing last year this time and the cop, i sort of know the guy, said he gets accidents and such in that spot all the time.

You all know the old people who like to pull off the road and wait for the rain to stop or groups of people waiting for the rest of the group. The cop was telling me that they all like to park there and wait because you just have to go straight to get back on the highway and he said they are always moving them along b/c its a bad area already and more oil and fludis on the road there doesnt help anything. But i guess $hit happens huh. o well no one was hurt and the good ol jeep can be fixed or replaced. hopefully fixed, guy is checkin it out tomorrow and said he will most likely do it.

Yeah, jeeps suck, especially in the rain, my beater jeep cherokee drives like crap in rain, I hope it does well in snow I'll have to add a lot of weight in the back. The problem with jeeps is they are just too light with their cheap unibody fake frames. Anyway glad to hear your alright, if you want to sell those tires cheap I know some people that might be interested in them. My friends and I are all taking a trip to the Silver Lake sand dunes and doing some major off roading this Sunday, if your jeep is already messed up you could really have some fun with it.

It's all fun and games as long as nobody gets hurt.

i'd go up to silver with you guys but i dont think the jeep will hold up too well. It had its roof replaced once on it. A guy I know who also fixes vehicles checked it out tonight.

Did some measuring, the back end is 6 inches off of center. but the roof, after some inspection he realized that the shop that did the new one did not weld it at all. All that held the roof on was the curl they put on them on the edges, hey are supposed to weld it every so far i guess he said. Also the front passenger tire that caught first broke the tie rod. We decided not to fix it. I'll keep you in mind with the tires. We are looking for another cherokee, b/c we have a little 6 ft plow for it and plow a few places, including our drive and shop drive. We might use them yet, might now. Anything else you need give me a shout, i'll tell ya if its still good on it or not. I'll probably take a few things but the rest will be parted / junked.

I messed up my jeep cherokee a little at silver lake sand dunese today, if you are going to part out your jeep please give me a call. (John) (248) 921-6421
I was jumping a few feet in the air with the stock suspension, blew a tire, and most of all I was jumping the dunes and then went through some puddles and ran into one that was four feet deep and totally submerged the jeep. I got water in my intake, in my cylinders, and flooded the interior. Please let me know if you are parting out the jeep. Thanks vellaj@cooley.edu
