RIP Paul Baker of Baker's Cruise-In

For those that hadn't heard already, last Wednesday Paul Baker suffered a major heart attack and passed away. This past Sunday was the weekly Baker's Cruise-In and between the fact that Car Craft was there and everyone was coming out to pay respect's to Paul, the attendance was massive: about 3500 total cars. I didn't know him personally, but I heard he was a really, really great guy.

I just heard about this spot last Friday at a car show in Ann Arbor. It sounds like he did a hell of a job building a nice cruise and hang out. It was nice that people turned out to show their respects.

Yeah, I went this past Sunday for my first time, and it was overwhelming how many cars were there and how many people truely loved this guy. From what I've heard, he really really was into the sunday cruise-ins and would even be at the entrance handing out the door-prize raffle tickets.

As a side note to those that haven't yet, make the trip to Milford on Sundays and visit Baker's cruise-in. It's a great event, and personally I'd love to see it keep going strong in respect to Paul.

I plan on going next weekend. What time does it start?

Is this a park and get out to check out others cars type of event? Or, is it simply a cruise?

Thanks,

Bill

From what I know, Paul Baker was a really great guy. Baker's of Milford is really one of the nicest weekly events I think you'll find. Living out here on the west side, I've watched this thing grow over the years. It's been absolutely incredible. They've fought with the city of Milford and had to switch days several times...there's just nothing in the area quite like it. Last weekend with Car Craft was insane. Great fun.

Thank you for making your place a Sunday home for so many, Paul.

Just a park and get out. Its basically just a few parking lots and one field full of cars. Very nice cruise-in considering its weekly. I would recommend checking it out.
