Unhappy Really need someones help with my new motor please?

I'm going to get right down to it-
Built a new 383 and the pickup fell off
I need someone to help me swap an oil pump.
pickup fell off and I am 700 miles from home. I am in northville (on 6 mile and beck- about 5 min west of 275 and 10 min south of 94) living with my aunt and uncle, and another aunt/uncle living next door.

I really dont have much to offer unfortunatly except my friendship and to help you out when you need it in return for you help. I am a pretty good guy when it comes to helping people out with stuff. I'm helping a board member with a cam install and such in a few weeks.

Actually let me clarify that..
My mom offered to pay a mechanic to do it, but I dont want her paying for it since its my motor, my car, and I'm "grown up" now that i'm in college" So technically I COULD give someone money to do it.
But she has enough crap to worry about with my lil sister growing up and my dad being sick (dont want to make this a sad story or anything)
I am also pretty broke myself since i just gave a buddy my last $350 or so to keep him out of jail. Spent another $100 on an oil pressure gauge and header gaskets and bolts because mine went and nieghbor is calling the cops Another $100 went to all the crap I need to do this oil gig...
$100 a freaking birthday gift for my cousin. So about $800 later, yea its pretty safe to say I'm broke..

I'm really bummed out about this and I would really appreciate it if someone who is very confident that they can do this would help me. I didn't mean to write a sad story and all that crap. i'm just really down about a whole bunch of stuff

I have 20 psi of oil pressure so I can drive an hour or so at 50mph to get to you...

Thanks for understanding,
Trey

EDIT
my TC is also loose and broken and I have a tranny cooler so anything you can help me will be great
now before you ask how the hell I did a 383 and dont know how to instal a tranny cooler -
My nieghbor throws a fit and says i'm bringing down the value of his house because it will look like a junkyard/mechanics bay and I might spill fluid on the driveway and make HIS house look bad...

Not much you can do when you live a rich subdivision and your neighbor is your uncle

Dumb question........
How do you know your pickup fell off?
If it is where's the 20 lbs coming from?

Trey,

I would be willing to help you!

I'm pretty close to you (10 mile & Haggerty) and
have space in the garage.

I did the main and rod bearings, along with oil pump
in my '94 last summer. All from under the car.

My problem is time. I work a bit of OT, with kids and all
my time gets pretty tight.

Email me or call (586)889-0061 (pager) and we should be
able to come up with a time that we could do this.

I would, but I am not getting under a car for a while.

I had 135 miles on my car when I did the swap. Mix a little bit of not using common sense and cheap jack and stands and well...I did a couple hundred dollars worth of damage to my car and came within a fraction of an inch from getting decapitated by the brake rotor as the car fell when we were doing the rears. I almost got killed in my own garage as my wife and kid sat in the house watching cartoons. It was NOT a pretty sight. The damage could have been much worse but just dented in the rear rocker panel right in front of the rear wheel. I am just lucky to be alive.

Be careful when you do yours, you never know when simple things just get overlooked because you are in a hurry to get you mods done. I am no moron, I have an IQ of 160, but for one second I just didn't use my head and it almost cost me dearly.

Yeah, I sure learned a lesson but it will be a while before I feel comfortable about getting under a car again. Otherwise I would help.

top this one jason

found jackstands in my garage
said 2 ton so i used them

jacked up the rear, put one stand on each side.
pop rear diff cover off, scrape off gasket...

pop gasket on

pour in fluid
*thinks- damn this is taking forever, let me just set it to pour in while i go get a drink

set it, get out from under car
stand up
clap crap off my hands and SMASH!
there goes the jackstand...
I still have it in my room to remind me not to be a moron when it comes to safety

that pumpkin was going to crush my skull
The culprate 5 min before pic about 10 min before it fell
