Not sure what kind of a ride you have, I'm assuming a F-body I'd recommend APEngineering in Clinton Twp. Top notch work!

yeah, scotts def. the guy to go to for gears. he's done lots of guys from the boards here, and then some.

Id suggest 3:73s if you have an auto, but def. 4.10's if you have a six speed. unless your plannin on N20, then stick w/the 3:73's.
just my $.02

as for the other stuff, I can do it all but custom programing. I can do the headers and cam install for alot cheaper then the shops around, but if youve got an auto, or are getting a big cam, then you'll still need custom tune. lots of guys use pcmforless.com (or is it pcm4less?)though. Id recommend dynotuning if you got the dough.

I'll do the cam/valve spring/headers/ypipe swap for ya for $450. and just in case you think I might be a "hack", I am a dealership tech at bob sellers pont. /gmc. so I can take care of you on that end too if you have any concerns tha may or maynot be under warranty for you car.

I wont have time till after M8 to do any of this, but I'll have lots of time after that.

oh yeah, and for the first part of your post, I dont know where the tracks are to the east, but west of you is either milan dragway, prolly about 1.5 hours from you, or mid michigan motorplex (stanton MI), or US131 dragway(martin MI.).

you should come to the M8 event. it'll be a blast.

gears

i do recomend the GM gears they are a good comprimise between strength and quietness, i do recomend US Strange gears for ultimate strength but you might sacrifice a little of gear noise for it. ususlly a gear and bearings installed is $400.00. for either gear set.

no, it will not void the warranty. nothing will void the whole cars warranty, however, the parts that are changed will not be warrantied, or anything that has to do directly w/the gears will be. such as the gears them selves, rear end seals. if you have any prob.s like that, you can let me know, and I can assist you in warranty stuff. so for instance, if you get the rear gears changed, then an axle breaks, if you take it somewhere else, and they realize there is aftermarket gears, they would prolly give you a hard time about it. I could just pretend I didnt see the aftermarket gears. know what Imean? it pays to know people.

another instance. I had a customer bring in a formula that he put headers and plug wires on. it still had warranty on it. the check eng light was on and the eng. ran rough. it turns out he didnt install one of the wires fully and it was sitting right on the header. now most tech's would have charged the customer for the diag., but I called the guy (now my friend ryan) and explained it to him and told him he needed to replace the wire. I gave him a spare wire to get him home, and cleared the code for him.

so like I said, if you ever have any problems, come see me and I can do what I can to get it covered, even if it shouldnt be.

Thumbs up Gears

Thanks, thats real cool so what do you specialize in as a tech there ? I bought my car from Rinke pontiac in warren and have been back there at least 5 or 6 times for diff things and the service there was awfull i do not want to go back there ever again. either the techs there are hacks or they just dont care about their quailty of work.
I would like to talk to you when is a good time to talk ?
